As a fellow sauna connoisseur, (and a Finnish person), I approve! Over here we usually bathe in around 80-90 degrees Celsius, I personally prefer it around 90+ :)
Sauna man here. Much approved! The sauna in my backyard is amazing, even if its a bit wonky, but it was a passion project for me an my dad. We use it every week as a destresser, and having a cold bath nearby is always great to jump into after the sauna, muscles and cardiovascular system appreciates it in the long run, even if a bit uneasy at the start. Enjoy the sauna!
Sauna is the best for relaxing, just be cautious of your electric bill :O. Cold beers whilst you are sitting outside just hits different. Glad you built this masterpiece!
My partial solution to the electric bill problem was to build my sauna in the basement. We won't be using it during warm weather months, and during heating season, the heat (and extra humidity) from the sauna won't be wasted, but will contribute to heating and humidifying the house. Also it's easier to get the sauna up to temperature if the outside air is at indoor rather than outdoor levels. There's also the possibility for using it as as walk-in clothes dryer (or warming oven for the Christmas feast).
Just a tip, don’t use the ice bath after a lifting session since it lowers the inflammation 👍🏻 After cardio it’s completely fine, awesome progress Kon.
You don't have massage in 24 hrs after lifting session as it opens the bruises up further. It may also be a issue for sauna (just a logical guess) but if you don't have a massage the maybe you shouldn't sauna in those 24 hours. Regardless plunge pool does the opposite so you WANT an ice bath or plunge pool after heavy lifts
Hello! Thank you very much from Siberia! Our people really love saunas and steam baths, we love to bask at a temperature of 90-100 degrees and drink beer. ))) Tell me how you cope without a washing room, we usually rinse after warming up.
It won't crack if it's not more than 3 inches, and if it has good hard core underneath. The soil and the hard-core support it fine. I've laid concrete like this often 25 years later it's still perfect. People use concrete in the uk to stop wood/soil rotting (basically in the UK climate any wood that touches the ground soil will rot)
Con as someone who sauna on the regular you should defiantly try to get the temp up to about 80-90 i find 70 is too easy on the body! Remember you get the benefits because its hard!
Nice job however, you should have got an electrician, for starters that light switch isn’t IP rated at all, I’d also strongly advise against the use of twin and earth externally it’s really not suitable
I get the composite decking, it’s so much easier to look after. My only thought is if the sub frame is still timber and rots/warps then the composite decking will still be affected
I want to build a sauna too. I need to lay concrete and would like to be able to clean the floor of my sauna. I was thinking to lay down concrete with a pipe in there and then do tile floors? What do you think about that? I don't know what to do for flooring.
Cold water therapy is absolutely amazing, it changed my mindset I used to be depressed 24/7 and would never eat healthy, i now eat well balanced meals and go to the gym - I was on many different medications for my mental health and no longer take any, I was also a heavy weed smoker and a regular cocaine user, it's made drastic changes in my life, keep in mind that wont be everyones experience but I suggest everyone tries CWT even just in their shower 2-5 minutes minimum per day
Well i got 3 differend saunas and what you need to get best results are volume, air circulations and one size bigger kiuas what a recomendations. Mine are 3x3x3m are basic temperatures what i normally use are 60 - 110 celcius. Humidity is crazy like steam sauna when you do it right and it still very comfort over 100 celcius
Amazing video great enterainment just as an idea i dont know if its something your wanting to do but i think maybe redesigning your garden to a more moden vibe to go with the sauna would be a cool video but i dont know if you want to change your garden
Very nice looking sauna coming from a finn! the "big giant wooden spoon" is called a "kuuppa" (this is the commonly used word even tho it's more slang than proper finnish) and the heater is called kiuas (hard K, KiuAs, not khiyass)
Generaly nice souna. But as a builder I see like milion problems.... Its recomended that you remove grass and top soil before pouring concrete. Top soil is soft and doesnt give enough support. Specialy if you didnt put in any rebar or fibers in the concrete slab. This slab will also experience huge differences in temperature and will likely crack. You are missing a vapor barier in the roof. Due to not puting in vapor barier your insulation will probably get wet and moldy. Also no insulation on the flor? Dont take this as a negative coment, just warning from experienced builder.
Looks awesome I'd love to have one in my back yard but the one at the gym will have to do for now. I take a yoga massage ball into the sauna and roll it on my back and shoulders against the wall it really helps with soreness
I think it would’ve been cool if the gym was made to have a door on the side and then the sauna was an extension. Still in the same spot and on that deck, but actually connected to the wall
Great build! One question: is there any particular reason to pour so much concrete? Why not fill up most of the space with rocks/gravel and pour less concrete?
then it wouldn't be an overnight challenge, it would be a 72 hour challenge..., over night means over " one" night, plus his audience aren't 12 year olds it wouldn't do well as a video, and he probably doesn't have time
Boss I love the care and appreciation you do to creating videos. But as a fellow Russian I was wondering how do you think you are going to be keeping in any heat with those huge windows and tall door, as soon as anyone leaves or comes in, all the heat is gonna escape.
Respect from the lands of saunas. No better feeling than a sauna and a cold beer alongside.
Videos have been POPPING recently Kon, keep it up!

im hoping you mean fahrenheit
@@barnabythe3rd991 nah, traditional saunas are always 70-90 degrees Celsius.
Infrared saunas and steam rooms are much cooler tho
@@barnabythe3rd991 Nope thats the traditional temperature for a sauna
fahreinheit? thats like a legit average summer day, its obv celcius, 85 is the sweet spot 4 me mate@@barnabythe3rd991
@@barnabythe3rd99190f is like 30 C. that's literally lower than body temp
Nothing better than a bit of Kon-struction to a day 👷🏼👷🏼♂️
these little home improvement videos are so fun to watch

Concrete pad won’t last, no rebar and no lines. Thing will crack and slowly fall apart over time. But other than that beautiful job.
Wow who would of thought 😂
11:27 this shot looked so nice
as a finnish person i approve this project 100%! well done
Just a tip, don’t use the ice bath after a lifting session since it lowers the inflammation 👍🏻 After cardio it’s completely fine, awesome progress Kon.
That is just completely false

As people have said 80-90 for the win! 15 mins sauna, 2 mins ice bath x 3 sets 👌 - Great project

It’s been great to see you on this fitness journey kon it’s inspired me to start my home gym and get in shape thank you
Really happy to see Kon's weight loss - very inspiring to a good hearted individual, keep up the progress Kon!
This is amazing. The sauna will be great in winter time
This man need his own TV show. Jack of all trades and self taught. I eye for perfection is ideal
An actual proper Harvia sauna stove 👍 Here's a Seal of Approval from Finland
It looks great! But the concrete isn't reinforced with rebar or lines so it will start cracking eventually.

Fair!!! I’ll build up to it eventually 😂

In Finland we love Sauna. Everybody has one at their home. Usually we like the tempature to be around 80-90+ celsius
I bet it’s quite cheap to get them their over here it’s pretty expensive
I get the composite decking, it’s so much easier to look after. My only thought is if the sub frame is still timber and rots/warps then the composite decking will still be affected

Banger after banger at the moment
Proper Harvia sauna🇫🇮🔥

I came to this channel a couple years back for sidemen gossip and bts. I stayed for Kon

As a finn, I appreciate this! Looks good.
SO SICK. Live your dreams don't just think of em. So entertaining to watch aswell
The light switch isn’t IP rated and shouldn’t be fitted in a sauna. Just heads up
You need to put your electrics in IP rated fittings internally
1 min club
Build a sauna, film it make it a business expense I like your style
Kon is building a house that has everything, and is utilising the space he has in the garden.

Loved the vid Kon! Keep smashing it
Kon is uploading a lot hope he doesn’t get burned out
I really wish someone would include a step by step of how to build a sauna
sadly there is never snow in the UK so you will never get to experience the best feeling of jumping into snow after being in the sauna
That an awesome ideas kon for you place you deserve one
Love the way it came out!
Now you just need a cold plunge/ice bath to go with the Sauna.
kon saying the wood needs treating and you just hear kirsty in the back say ‘take it out for dinner’
the videos keep ketting better, keep it up
7:39 when u don’t make someone’s top 10 friends😅😅😅
Looks awesome I'd love to have one in my back yard but the one at the gym will have to do for now. I take a yoga massage ball into the sauna and roll it on my back and shoulders against the wall it really helps with soreness
I swear we have already seen some of the footage in this video
I see this was a month ago but good game on kon, the king is making this year his. From business to health. Love to see it
Syndicate wants a set up !
Now you need a nice ice bath 🤌🏼
Note: I posted this before I got to the end 😂
my boy just doing side quests at this point
bro is livin his best life
Looking real slim my guy!!! Congrats!!!
Finnish sauna rocks🤩
W Project
Looks sick
Kon ”Heater” is called Kiuas in finland the land of saunas. Btw harvia is the correct brand
And sauna should be atleast 90-100 celsius
@@bucafan you think people in england can handle 100C? hahahah
Yea you need to get it up to 80/90 Really cool build!
I’ve recently been doing it at 80 as I’ve gotten more used to it aha 60 seems like nothing now
Nice 👍 but that concrete wont last long
13:05 BLAST THE SPEAKER!
How you finding it so far ? Something I have thought about putting in my garden also!
Saunas usually don't have windows. There's a god reason for that !
Not sure that kind of light switch should be used inside the sauna...
Need a follow up video on this!
You are both looking great! keep up the great work :)
I think it would’ve been cool if the gym was made to have a door on the side and then the sauna was an extension. Still in the same spot and on that deck, but actually connected to the wall
Same 😂
make your own icebath
Proper sauna stove brand too.
kon is the definition of why pay someone to do it when i can do it for free
for some reason i read "sauna" and was thinking jacuzzi. the whole build process i was like why tf is he building a shed for a jacuzzi. lmao
looks good, now on to tom syndicates set up ........ mush kon mush!
THIS IS SO GOOD
Bing bong
Get Jay from tgf to come build you an ice bath! He built one on his channel, also would be a banger video!
Love these videos Kon ace man 🔥
I am so happy for you kon
Great build! One question: is there any particular reason to pour so much concrete? Why not fill up most of the space with rocks/gravel and pour less concrete?
that is so sick I would love my own sauna
Im not familiar with UK construction but aren't you supposed to put rebar when pouring a concrete slqb that thick?
Just a quick question. I have no experience in this, that's why I'm asking. The roof, isn't it better to tilt the other way? Away from the house?
Loved this vid bro! 😍
Loving the vids lad keep up the good work
Should’ve put DPC in between the concrete and the wood
Kon is looking so much slimmer what the fuck homie is getting shredddded
Can see Kon's Russian side coming through... sick home Banya!!!
Nice
60°c sauna are you joking 😂
I was thinking the same, so cold 😃
nice video
9:44 What’s film is this a reference??? I know I’ve heard it before, I’m just drawing a complete blank on wtf it’s from..?
Great video , who makes that sauna kit?
should use suitable flex when exposed to the elements mate. The 2.5 T&E wont last.
look respect to doing it yourself, 90% of people wouldn’t even have a go but that concreting job was horrendous
This should be called ... had someone else build a sauna in my garden
Kon should do a 72 hour overnight challenge in his backyard Sauna
He would faint within an hour
then it wouldn't be an overnight challenge, it would be a 72 hour challenge..., over night means over " one" night, plus his audience aren't 12 year olds it wouldn't do well as a video, and he probably doesn't have time
Boss I love the care and appreciation you do to creating videos. But as a fellow Russian I was wondering how do you think you are going to be keeping in any heat with those huge windows and tall door, as soon as anyone leaves or comes in, all the heat is gonna escape.
It’s been pretty good at keeping heat tbh!
I swear I’ve seen this video before
If you dug out the ground the base would be stronger and then the concrete would be the same thickness
