    In this video we take a 1930 Ford Model A and strip it back before completely restoring the body of the car. It was difficult when swapping body panels for used ones as these cars were not made the same as cars today. Yes they were done on an assembly line, but they were still assembled by hand and the parts were not prefect exact replicas of each other. We also had to deal with bolts that were not in the mood to cooperate haha. But once we got the car stripped down we got to work filling and sanding multiple times, then priming and sanding. This car does get driven quite a bit, and you could tell from the condition of the paint before we started. but once that paint went on this thing looked like a different car entirely. putting the car back together was very rewarding as everytime we put on a piece of chrome it just made the black paint pop more. a very deep wet black look. I was having a bit of trouble with the camera sometimes getting digital noise on the black areas, I think it was having a hard time deciding on auto adjusting the light since it was just seeing "black". We also experimented with some stop motion and things to change up the video a bit. Anyway, I hope you enjoyed it! And if you took the time to read the description and made it this far, the next project is a 1969 Dodge Charger! See you next time!
    We have another project coming out next week so keep an eye out for that!

      You are right, black always looks good and even cars that are not interesting or exciting can look better in black. And as far as wheels, you are not wrong, especially since this Model A was kept with more of an original look. These wheels would suit a Model A that had a chop and a hot rod paint color. Thanks for watching and for the comment!

      @@RustedRides I've had mine since 2021. It was a Fordor Town Sedan. However the body is mostly a wood frame with sheet metal nailed to it unlike the coupe you worked on. So, I scrapped the body from behind the cowl and am currently doing a Huckster Woody Build.

      Every time I drive to work, or drive to my parents house, I drive past a place that has an early 70s red firebird sitting on the property. Doesn't look bad from a far, but it's been there a long time and I don't know what the owner has planned for it. I might have to pop in sometime and find out 🤞

    Make the floor wet when you paint. And why dont you Buff and polish against dust ?

    • @RustedRides
      @RustedRides  4 місяці тому

      Wetting the floor can sometimes mess up the humidity in the shop since we also have the furnace going good too. So that moisture and the heat means the humidity can get a little weird with the paint. And yes a buff and posish will get rid of dust nibs and smooth things out more. But paint needs to be a little more cured first.
