I have 2 questions for you guys. First, what are you most excited to see from the Spurs rotations this year and what are your expected rotations? Second, we know the Spurs are engaged with the Jazz, so what is the best you would give for Lauri? I'm ok with Keldon and a few picks with the exception of the ATL '25 pick. Love the content fellas! Keep it coming!
Do you guys think Devin Vassell can be an all star next year or in the future?
Does Wemby participating in literally anything other than official Spurs activities make you as nervous as me about injury? I find myself just wishing we could lock him in a vault until game 1.
Thanks for the show. Best Spurs podcast on the internet. GSG!
Point Wemby is obviously fun to watch and can be a matchup nightmare for any opposing big. Will the arrival of more guards combined with less lineup experimentation/more offensive structure mean we’ll have to say goodbye to the Wemby iso?
I got a question,
Given the recent roster changes,(draft and new signings) how do you think the Spurs’ playing style will evolve in the upcoming season?
Will Castle start at some point this year?
Is there any validity to the online rumors of Keldon looking to be or available to be shopped? What last piece could the front office be looking for at this point of the roster construction for the season?
Do you think getting these 2030 and beyong picks & pick swaps from the Dillingham trade & other deals is *more* about: A) using those picks to trade for future core players to build around Wemby over the next few years OR B) to use those picks to draft cheap good players once we're contending & have a much larger payroll? I think it's about both, but which is more likely?
Since the 3pt boom of 2016, the Spurs ranked near the bottom of the league every year in 3pt rate until last year, when they ranked 11th. Do we think Pop is coming around to launching more 3’s going forward, or was last year just a blip?
Thoughts on Sochan?
I think Evan is an AI robot who sits there 😑 until he is prompted to talk. Love it! Y’all need to get him riled up like he gets in these X Spaces. 😂
How likely is it CP3 finishes the seasons with the Spurs. Will he see it out, or will he want to jump ship to a contender at the deadline?
About how long do think coach Pop has left in him to coach? Is it that he’s waiting for another ship or is coaching just all he knows what to do?
What would you be the most you’d be willing to give up for Lauri? I would say Keldon+zach+Wesley, 2025 bulls, 2025 Charlotte, 2027 ATL, 2028 swap rights, 2029 swap rights, multiple seconds.
The year is 2030. Who is on Wembys bateau banane photo?
Took me a second but I got there without google translate
Question:
Yes everyone will improve with Chris Paul, But I honestly see Jeremy Sochan benefiting the most.
What do you think?
With the upcoming Atlanta pick in 2025, plus our own pick. How good would they have to keep both and not trade out of the lower pick? Thinking about how we traded out of 8 this year for future assets has me curious on the approach of upcoming drafts when we have multiple firsts?
*Have to be
Mailbag question: who is your all-time favorite draft and stash spur who never donned the silver and black? My answer will always be: Adam Hanga
Castle ABSOLUTELY should have been the #1 pick... With Buzelis going #2...
So the Spurs got the best player 2 drafts in a row... And for the cherry on top...
Castle goes ABSOLUTELY PERFECT with wembanyama
What kind of season do the Spurs need to have for it to be considered a success?
Hilarious episode love it. It's just like hanging out with a group of good dudes talking hoops.
Well I appreciate the heck out of you for saying that friend :)
Oh shit Zach in the Chelsea Kit. My question for the algorithm is WHO IS ON THE JERSEY?! Diego Costa? Hazard? Drogba? We need answers Zach.
Also, Congrats on the promotion Tom!
Biggest shithouser to rock the Chelsea colors. Diego costa
@@ZachMontana-q1b god damn I miss those days. Quite literally had a fuck around and find out mentality and not much could stop him from scoring when he was determined to.
My question is what are y’all’s coffee order and although i’m not looking into it much, what did you think of Rob’s recent summer league game for the Wolves?
Excited for Castle’s Rookie Season
Never move the Anthony Michael Hall poster, we count the number of poses Tom does during each episode that matches it...3 and counting.😂🎉❤😅
Which free agents do you guys want the Spurs to target in the summer of 2025? (this is for the mailbag episode)
Who finishes next season with a better record, the Spurs or the Hawks?
CP3 is one of the biggest shit talkers in the NBA. Does he elevate that aspect in Jeremy Sochan game too?
Do you think a dynasty will become a thing in the next 3-5 years?
We've made moves for more picks in the 2031 draft. Who is our coach in 2031?
The year is 2029. How many titles have the Spurs won?
I’ve got a few thoughts. Aside from cp3 and Harrison Barnes on our team as vet leadership, are there any chances that trades will be looming at the deadline as championship contenders may want an expiring contract that can move the needle?
Also, if you had to pick between either of the two coming back on another deal, who would it be why?
Love our team and I’d much rather hear you guys talk about the spurs as opposed to the talking heads on media, they just aggravate me.
What key strategies and player developments do you think will be crucial for the Spurs to have a successful upcoming season and what should spurs fans consider a successful season as they rebuild?
Besides the big three, who is each of y’all’s favorite spurs player ever?
Lauri turned 27 in May.
With all these new players we got this FA, how many wins do you think we`re going to take?
How do you feel about Zach Collins coming into next season? Will he have a bounch-back season?
Since this has become a Brian Wright lovefest, it's worth pointing out that the Express News crew confirmed the Spurs FO would've have absolutely, definitively taken Alex Sarr with their pick had he fell to them -- over Stephon Castle, over Reed Sheppard. They viewed him as a better version of a Jeremy Sochan and were going to roll with him all the way. So before you guys (especially Evan) bend over backwards to give him his flowers, remember it's not just wheeling/dealing on the margins, it's talent evaluation and upside and with the Primo pick, with Malaki and Blake deep on the development clock, including the fanbase divided on Sochan, I think it's pertinent to stay vigilant on all of these things.
Thanks for watching man! No GM is perfect and we’ll always say when we disagree, but honestly at this juncture it makes no sense for us to sit and spend time in the show talking about a draft pick several years back being cut due to misconduct, or what they might have done at 4 if another guy was available. We’ve spent about enough time on Malaki and Blake as the subject warrants at this point. The aim is to stay topical, and if every episode we went through his whole tenure as GM there wouldn’t be time for anything else.
@@petrinit Since we're going topical here, how about next episode digging into the Spurs fascination w/Sidy Cissoko? I love what I see yet I can't shake the fact he's shooting in the Summer League about as bad as Alex Sarr. This has carried over from last year. If he can't turn the corner there, isn't he essentially replicating mostly what Jeremy Sochan brings to the table?
Chances of us trading Chris Paul by the deadline if our expectations fall short?
Another classic.
If Chris Paul is splinter from TMNT who are the 4 Turtles that fill out the starting 5?
If I may give you some constructive criticism in order to improve the podcast, please invest in quality microphones and make better thumbnails for UA-cam because right now it's not great, only 1080p in 2024 isn't great with all due respect, the decor is cool the subjects covered are cool too, it's obvious you know what you're talking about too. I still enjoy the show ;)
Of course you can give constructive criticism! As you can see we’re still in the early stages, but given the growth and support from folks like you I’d say there’s a good chance we can justify investing in better equipment :)
Thanks for watching!
you could say our production is in the "pounding the rock" mentality at the moment 😂 Thank you for watching and being as engaged to give us some good feedback! As we scale this thing up we look forward to putting more investment into our production! 🙏
More cameras, each have you own camera with a medium close up. And another camera with the wide shot, but cut to the wide shot about 10% of the time.
Add a sound board with cued up audio (this could also be done in post)
What works is the conversation and the back and forth is good. I’m entertained and plan to watch the next.
appreciate you listening and the feedback Aaron! At the moment we're still figuring things out on our end bit by bit and have very limited funds to invest further into production at the moment. But with more views (which hopefully leads to advertisements) we plan on investing further into our production as well. So please enjoy the campy-ness of our production for now 😂
I once worked for an Oscar winning Cinematographer and he told me that no one would watch even the most beautifully shot film if the audio sounded like shit and the storyline was garbage. So yall are doing the important stuff, keep it up!
What would your trade offer for Lauri Markkanen be?
