So much of the artistry in skating these days seems to have been superceded by the athleticism - ie the bigger the jumps are, the better. It was a joy watching this performance, especially that fully stretched, deep arabesque spiral. Thank you so much for posting this. I also recommend that anyone who enjoyed this watch Katherine's video skating to Casta Diva - it is simply gorgeous.
A wonderful performance. I haven't seen so much beauty on ice since that film "Ice Castles", 1978. At that level let's say: An olympic champion (the real performer). This is the pas de deux from Sleeping Beauty... But I forgot about the prince! This Aurora is perfect!!! CONGRATULATIONS!!!
How I wish there was more skating like this today. Her ballet experience really shows that skating is enhanced by port de bras, line, turnout, and toe point.
Her 'Nutcarcker' dance in 'Six Weeks' was one of the most beautiful pas de deux Ive ever seen, so I knew her 'Sleeping Beauty' would be no less than remarkable.
