I grew up in that bowl....early 70’s through mid 80’s, and again last August (but was sorta tiny😄) when I came home for 40th HS reunion. Watched Buttons (late 70’s) pulling a “long shot” from outside, pump into the left at the inside bowl, and go up over it, dropping into the end of bowl, and finishing it with a 360°...... we didn’t know it was gonna eventually be called a “floater”. 😊❤️💪🤙🤙🤙
First wave I ever caught in Hawaii was at that bowl. Buttons called me "uncle diddly" because I was wearing a blue oneil wetsuit vest with a t-shirt underneath
