So sad, I noticed you have only liked the comments that are for your decision on Luna. Please don’t feel as if people are trying to be mean. Perhaps some are just seeing things from a different view. Luna is a big part of your life & your channel. I along with so many look forward to not only seeing you but Luna also. Just perhaps think on it prior to jumping into something that later you might regret 🙏🏻🐰

I think it’s really important that people consider the life span of a pet and what your life is going to look like during their lifetime. Peoples lives always change. But I can’t imagine any change in my life where my pets would not fit into it. You don’t owe anyone an explanation as to what you do in your personal life. And frankly my opinion or anyone else’s doesn’t matter. But I do wish you’d have stressed to people in this video how much of a commitment owning a pet is and the importance of really thinking that through beforehand. I’ve traveled but I’ve also turned down traveling and other things because of my pets. They are worth the commitment IMO.

Well just take Luna with you. You said she can live only 5 more years, You never know. It is better to take her with you even if she won't be ok, but you will be happy to have her with you. But if you leave her with some one else, maybe she will miss you, and die. She loves you girl, don't let her behind. While you travel, she can stay with some one, but if you move definitely , I think is better to take her with you, that is my humble opinion!

Thats not correct or reasonable. The commitment we make to our animals is that we will do all we can to give them a stable and loving home and that includes recognising when you are no longer able to give your pet the best life. There are many reasonable reasons to re-home an animal. Elise has explained that Luna doesn't like to travel in her pet carrier and that she doesn't like to be moved about. With Elise being so busy now she is not at home all the time like she was before opening the shop and buying her garden and she can't take Luna to those places either without upsetting her. This also means dropping her pet sitters won't work. So this is not just about travel, even Elise's day to day life has changed so much to the point she can't spend much time Luna. Loving our animals means also realising you can no longer provide her the best home and making sure she gets what she needs from her home.

Since the decision to let go Luna was made public I don't feel bad commenting that pets are not disposable. They are a lifelong commitment and it's the tutor's responsability to make sure they are safe and loved for as long as they live. Single people should not get pets as placeholders for a partner and dispose of them once that partner is found. I hope Luna finds a better tutor and a loving home.

    • @catherinezenovich5483
      @catherinezenovich5483 2 роки тому +7

That is not what she is doing. If people actually listened to what she was saying maybe they would get it. The main reason is that Luna is home alone most of the time now that Elise's life is so much busier. The desire to travel is not the main reason, more like the last straw. Being a responsible pet owner means being able to recognise when you are no longer in a position to give your pet its best life. Good for her for putting the desire to see Luna getting the best life she can first, because I promise you Elise has made this decision because she loves Luna.

@@tamber6837 What a load of rubbish! People have to work to survive and unfortunately sometimes as our lives change over time we are no longer the best carer for our pets. This is especially true with young people whose lives change enormously over a 5 years. It is the sign of a responsible and loving owner to recognise they are no longer in a position to give their animals the best home and find the right person to do that for the animal. If she was dumping Luna it would be a different story but she is going to carefully select the right home for her and make sure Luna is safe and loved, so people need to stop being so critical.

They said they were tired of fighting an older dog, signing papers and leaving without even looking at her.

That moment was perpetuated by photographer John Hwang who was in the shelter at that time.

No, unfortuanetely not. A bunny is not as easily moved as other pets, especially not a free bun. The space that they move into has to be bunny proofed, which takes a lot of preparation. They are quite different from other animals in many aspects :) And as also mentioned in this video, even if it wasn't for travelling, I'm not home enough anymore. In the long run Luna would be happier with somebody else.

I have a sister with serious asthma issues. Several times she has been rushed to emergency hospital just to stabilise her as she can't breathe. We can't have pets as my sister allergic reaction is deadly, it will literally KILL HER. So we had to give up our cats to someone who will care for them. Illnesses cannot always be controlled, Elise doesn't need to explain anything to anyone. There are other personal reasons too as I believe it's nobody's business. Elise still will have subscribers no matter what. There are people who will give up their own children for adoption which I think it's wrong. Why not complain about that? Many children end up in social care or foster care and many of them are abused. Elise gave her bunny to a trustworthy friend, not to a shelter.

So instead of the luxury of hot water and real plumbing I finished out my shed and built an outhouse. Been living in a 12x17 box with 4 cats and a dog with my chickens right outside for 5 months so far and another 9-11 to go until my house is repaired. You are young and want to travel, there is nothing wrong with that. If you have a good friend or family that could take in Luna while you test out traveling that might be an emotionally better solution for now. Luna is a life you chose to take care of and welcome into your family, so finding a good home for her where you could visit seems like a better solution than simply finding a new home and writing her out of your life. Animals that are part of the family are in a way similar to a child, and there is no way we would write a child out of our lives just because we were bit by the travel bug. Being able to find your little bunny a home in which you can still visit her may be a healthier option for both of you. In the end what matters the most is Luna getting all the love, attention, and care she deserves.

I used to watch my friend's hamster at my house whenever she'd be gone for a while. It was very easy, and I actually preferred that she brought him over in his cage rather than me having to go over there. And for your busier weeks at work, could you get a pet service to stop in once or twice a week to feed/spend time with Luna? It sounds like a lot, but there will probably be many lengths of downtime in the next upcoming 4 to 5 years where holding onto her would still prove to be very manageable. Fingers crossed for both of you, I'd love to see a situation work where you could still have each other.

Also wanted to say that you never really know what can happen in 4 to 5 years at this point in your life and in a blossoming relationship that is heading in a more serious direction. You could get married or even pregnant in the next two (I don't know your views on either of these so I'm just speculating). In which case, if you were pregnant or had a child, you'd definitely be travelling less. Travelling is important, but you can definitely still hold onto Luna while doing so!

Rabbits require daily care and attention, they're very social animal's and generally rarely should be a single rabbit you're supposed to have 2 but Elise didn't know that at first and Luna didn't get along with a new rabbit, so if she had a rabbit friend she could be alone more, but she is dependent on human companionship, I personally haven't finished watching the video yet but that's my input on rabbits, they bond with people and it's kinda rough rehoming them.

I was thinking the same thing. Or maybe her mom or sister could watch Luna while she's out of town? Maybe even staying with them temporarily? I would hate for Luna to lose Elise because transitioning to new homes is so difficult for animals 😢

Again go for it. Ilike I said till you find her perfect new home pet sitters. That way she is home safe and sound.so you can move forward without so much pain. Our pets are our babies.

Buildding her dreams ! With lovely Luna by your side. But know you want to deconstruct all your acomplishmentes and fallow the fantasy of a sand castel , setting your hopes of achiving the perfect life ON some one out side your self. I been there and done that. One thing I learned. No relationship should make us forget who we are and what we love

One year later and it did indeed turn out to be a sand castle. Poor Luna.

Wow, what a lucky young man to have found you. I am so happy for you. I have watched your channel for such a long time and all I ever wanted was for you to find someone who deserves you. I love the idea of you traveling and finally doing what you want to do. As for Luna, I think all of your subscribers have fallen in love with her. I don’t think it will be hard finding someone who will love and take care of her. I am totally in agreement about you not talking too much about your relationship but Elise, I am over the moon with happiness forever you. I wish I could give you a big hug. Be happy and May you have many years of happiness to come but please don’t forget us because we want to keep up with your journey.💕💕💕💕💕
