I love the fact they look like they are having fun. She smiles occasionally and the pianist looks like he is having a good time. Overall, great performance!
Excellent interpretation; the emotion is evident throughout the body language and musicality. Bartok himself would have been proud if he listened to them play this!
Bravo !!! This violinist has poured her soul into this piece and it is totally alluring. Every note drips with heart felt vigour and the music soars into our hearts.
Very enjoyable performance! Violinist demonstrated fine technique and terrific intonation, while producing a lovely tone on her instrument. Both musicians played exceedingly well together, displaying much energy and verve, capturing the "gypsy"-like quality of this work.

I think that this is the best performance of the Bartok Romanian Dances on UA-cam.Played with controlled passion, perfect balance between the violin and the piano, and impeccable rhythm .
Absolutely beautiful rendition. Love the careful interaction between the players. The resonant concert hall becomes a third performer & enhances the music.
Thrilling! I had no idea who Bartók was until I came across a plaque honoring him on the exterior wall of the apartment building across the street from me on W 57th St in Manhattan( between 8th & 9th Avenues). The plaque mentioned that he resided in that building at the time of his death in 1945. I'm so happy I was prompted to check this out!
Stunning. Easily the best interpretation I've heard of these three dances. It is here played with conviction and life. Sweetness, joy and yet burning intensity. Fully inspiring!
Это было здорово... это слезы.. спасибо.. к черту все разногласия.. .. ведь есть прекрасное... почему не жить этим!!! Люди!!!people!!!! Давайте жить любовью к прекрасному, а значит любовью к себе!!!
I was just thinking how much I liked the camera work when I saw the comment below. I really enjoyed this, and I have listened to many of the Romanian Dances videos on youtube. I love the music, and interesting camera work adds to it.
+Marcus Meyer I didn't know what you meant by "ponytail alternation." Then I started watching it. Looks like they zippered together two different takes. In one, Ms Lark's ponytail hangs behind her back; in the other, half of it hangs over her shoulder across her collarbone.
Amazing! I’ve found this recording incidentally, and I’m like... You are absolutely very talented, you have perfect technique, and you now what you play about. I was very excited when listened you. Thank you so much!!!!!!
Wow! Wow! Wow! Since the first time I heard and performed this piece, it has truly been one of my favorites of all time. From the moment I pressed play on this rendition, I couldn't stop smiling and now my day feels so much brighter for having listened to it. Incredibly performed. Well done. Well done. Bravo.
This is a folk fance that Bartok wrote down. I'm playing this, and it's really interesting. It can be hard for me ( who is year 5)but I enjoying playing it.
Bravo to both performers! Such life and depth in this performance. Truly among my favorite pieces in the world to play at the piano or with a violinist.
I've heard many versions of this - piano, violin, etc. and this is not only technically flawless but attempts (whether intended or not) to capture the feel of the "gypsy-ness" that comes thru when Bartok plays it. Of course, no contemporary orchestra captures this found with a true gypsy orchestra :) (There's a UA-cam video of one somewhere... Fabulous job Tessa and Yannick.
+horsewhysperer "gypsy-ness" ? :) Bela Bartok was inspired by traditional songs and dances of Romanians/Wallachians. I can tell you exactly from wich songs and dances he was inspired, but with Romanian names : Jocul Cu Bâta, Brâul, Pe Loc, Buciumeana, Poarga Româneascâ, Mâruntel. Gypsies have nothing in common with this. it's easy to recognize gypsy music, because its quite different from the Romanian one. Hope you are not another person who thinks that Romanians/Wallachians are gypsies. Have a nice day.
Amazing! Full of controlled energy and style. I don't think I have ever heard a better interpretation. Great synergy between the 2 of you as well. Thank you for the experience!
Great Piece! I am working on it and I am listening for character and references. This is superb. I really enjoyed it. the only thing I would recommend is looking more happy.
That moment between 2:06 and 3:13 just keeps taking my breath away... purely divine...
+Marine Parker All Harmonics! It's outstanding and very difficult to pull off.
+Justin Earley tell me about it I have a test on this piece in 2 weeks and I still can barely get that movement
im learning it. The mordents are killing me!
Just had a nysma test on it it killed me
I know right
This is absolute perfection. It cannot be better than this.
Here is the best:-)

Enjoy it!
I love the fact they look like they are having fun. She smiles occasionally and the pianist looks like he is having a good time. Overall, great performance!
+applecinnamonpie most important thing that too much musicians seem to forget
Look at the 4th song it’s suppose to be sorrow. Not happy and she did not smile at all in that one so that’s why it make it good
Excellent interpretation; the emotion is evident throughout the body language and musicality. Bartok himself would have been proud if he listened to them play this!
A real lark! You were fine your name!
2:48 the change of harmony is so beautiful
Vincent Vega i think it is ezekiel 25:17

What fire in their playing! What great passion! They really feel what they play. I thank you both for such a precious gift.
Did anyone else notice that at the bottom of her violin's strings they are colored yellow, blue, red? Colors of the Romanian flag. look @4:30
Its Dominant String Set. Just chance.
all violin strings have colours it depends on the brand what colour though mostly black yellow red and green
It is sometimes used for fingering
Also I know that because I USED to play violin

Excellent designed video with humor - very good. I really like that ponytail alternation gimmick. And also outstanding well played.

Seems totally effortless! Amazing performance!
Magical... I've played the flute arrangement, but the violin makes it just so perfect...
What the hell, they invited the entire world, and no one showed up!! At least I was able to still enjoy this beautiful music.
Amazing! I’ve found this recording incidentally, and I’m like... You are absolutely very talented, you have perfect technique, and you now what you play about. I was very excited when listened you. Thank you so much!!!!!!

This is a folk fance that Bartok wrote down. I'm playing this, and it's really interesting. It can be hard for me ( who is year 5)but I enjoying playing it.
