Hi, I also typed this on izzy's vid, I have a scam I found out! I'm always cautious around suspicious scammers, but the other day, someone came to my island, holding a diamond portal and kept clicking to place it, little did I know, they were just trying to open/close an iron door but it looked like they were trying to place, I have them supervised build for a few seconds and that's when I realised they were clicking on the door, and not trying to place that item, they could've quickly resetted and gone to my shop to steal if i hadn't of taken their perms away soon after realising it was a scam... Ty if u read, nice vid btw!
I remember once a dude ask for builds to place stuff so I asked him to follow me to somewhere where my good stuff is far away. Whenever I kept spamming the built button so when they place, as I see it placed I built off incase they break my blocks.
I actually did the drop trade once, but I was soooo lucky that the other person’s intention was not to scam! Rest assured there are more good people in the world then you think my friend :)
I wish i saw this before i got scammed. The guy did help me for sometime then suddenly he started to take everything away to quickly for me to react and he left the game. Luckily people in the chat saw him saying stuff and when i said no and started crying in chat they all knew that i got scammed so they came to my aid. I didn't get all of it back but at least they helped me.
Remember to look through shops before you buy. I’ve seen people put high demand items by the entrance with high prices to get people to impulse buy, only to have the same item listed for less somewhere else in the shop.
There was this one time someone asked for build permission on my island, and I said yes. She was actually really helpful and didn't scam me, even when I went AFK. But then someone else scammed me by asking me. Now I have a feeling they were working together.
Suggestion: Every object placed on island should be traced to owner name. In another word, if the scammer pickaxed the item, it will automatically goes back to the owner inventory. (even coins in vending and stuff).
tbh I feel like when mods and devs say that they cannot help you when you get scammed, it make me view as an excuse to either Laziness or they didn’t want inflation to happen.

I just started 2 days ago a friend of mine gave me a industrial smelter and a guy who was acting like a noob who was offering to help took out a diamond pickaxe and took my smelter but good thing I have a good friend he said he’s willing to help me out. If they go anywhere near your valueable items to trade then asks for perms to build don’t let them they’ll steal your items
Always remember: drop trading is a scam when the trader is asking that you should drop your item first.Knowing that they trully are, just make sure you ask them first.If he/she declines, for sure its a scam

I actually got scammed by the "nice guy act" one. They gave me tons and tons of totems (not kidding, they gave me like 50 totems each) and I gave him build but when I wasn't looking, he took everything I had. Looted my chests, destroyed my house, took my trees. Everything. But a year after that, I joined back into Skyblock/Islands and this actually nice person gave me lots of stuff to rebuild my island. We became friends and he stops by once in a while just to see how I'm doing. He doesn't ask for build, he doesn't ask for things, he's just a good person. I'm proud to say that now I'm doing really good at the game and I'm helping people. So, it has come full circle.
why wouldnt u look at ur island bruh. if u go in another server they get kicked out. only give build to people u trust, not random people. so basically, thats a you problem.
There’s a new “mansion scam”. The only way that I know how to prevent it is turn off build perms if you don’t see the guy that was going to build a mansion for you.
As a former Growtopia player, these scams occur every day and in huge quantities. Drop games exist too, where players would gamble their prized items for more items: one might win the bet or the other getting kicked out of the area/world. In its modern form, it turned into casinos now which Islands don't have. Stay safe from gambling, kids!
For the mega profit scam, I’ve seen so many published island shops that do that. So thanks DV for including this on your video for lots of significant others to see 👍
This is so helpful I try to teach people don’t give a person build on your island unless you fully trust them but they don’t listen I hope the people that got scammed watch this
The first time I got scammed is because I wanted to make a ruby staff, witch got me naive on that “drop trade scam”, I lost a red page and 2 pink sticky gears, and I was like: *Whatever, Don’t Care*, because I can grind to get more. Edit: The fact that I was trying to get mysterious fragments to go to the underworld and I got lucky on the rubies was really shocking, I’m still grinding for the fragments BTW.
What’s good about this vid is also what’s bad about it, it’s teaching people how to avoid scams, but also how scammers should scam differently. Good vid tho keep up the good work! 👍

1 coin isnt scam really cause if they tell you its one coin then it turns into a game but if they dont tell you and say its free stuff it would count as a scam
I remember doing the building permissions trade and the scammers took everything. When I made a new save slot it was better than the older one but I wish that the owner of islands could make a trading center which reveals all your trades or building permissions you gave to them and you can report the scammers. That could be cool! But now I can know all different types of scam trades :)
My friend got scammed for his trophy we gave our “friend” build tools and he took a very rare trophy worth 2.1m I don’t know the name I think he was looking around and saw it and had a change of heart at that moment
Tip: There are things called Impossible trades where people offer you rare stuff for something not quite rare. E.g. snow globe for tidal aquariam. If u get offered this trade, it is more often than not, a scam. I highly recommend for u to NOT take this trade.

Another way of getting scamed is, ironically, "helping" someone that asks for help because they "have been scamed :(". Sometimes it's true, sometimes it's not. When players ask for items because they "are new/noob" too. What I do on those cases is always ask what items exactly do they need and/or how many. If I feel they are genuinely in need of help, I even give more than what they asked for. (and only if I can. Think of it as if we were all in holes, you can't help other get out of their hole if you are still inside your own)

There is a scam that u didnt showed up, like u invite ur victim to ur island u put a wall and u respect the distance , and when the victim drop, u kick him. also if u put glasses u can pick items trough it its how i got scammed my diamond great sword :c
One time, I wanted to trade a gilded hammer for a diamond pick, and I told him to walk away, then we’d both drop, and then walk over. He dropped a berry, but I picked up the hammer in time.

My friend got scammed once :( Idk exactly how but.. She pretended to be a noob and said she is building a surprize. And when he came back his automatic farms were gone. You can still see the lack of machines. He is recovering well though. Apperently the scammers name was MouldyMangos something. I actually have got avcused of scamming once. I said i'll help and she put build on. Her friend had given her a drill but she didn't know how to use it. So she gave it to me and I placed it. One block to the side of the ore. I tried to mine it but she had already put build off. Because I tried to mine it she accused me of scamming... Great video btw!!!
The impersonation scam is now growing due to the feature “display names” it is now hard to avoid the scam because their display name could be DVwastaken
I’ve fallen for the buy sell confusion one, and the shop owner wasn’t even scamming. The top was sell and the bottom was buy and I just bought a bunch of wooden logs and was like “nooo”
I almost got scammed when someone tryed to gain my trust by giving me free items(maybe 20k worth). I then gave build permissions but then when they started to run to my vending machine area I immediately left.

The build permission scam happened to me she took all my vending machines and my 250 fireflies in the vending machines(idk why I was selling fireflies)
That happened to me too. He said he would build an onion farm, went through the portal then came back into my workshop and looted it. He looted almost all of my workbenches, and since I didn't have my tier three I couldn't advance in the game, but with the help of someone close to me, I got a tier three and replaced everything I lost.
I found a new scam today and its quite scary, so this is how it went. A guy was in my island and asked builds to place a wide snowman, normal people would know its a scam but he asked me to go to another spot where there was less valuables hoping to gain my trust but the truth is, there was another guy camping on my valuables back at spawn with the same username as the guy’s display name who said he was going to place the wide snowman. How people would get scammed is that they would assume the guy placing the wide snowman was the only person with that username in the server and give perms to the guy when they see the name, but actually gave perms to the other guy with the actual username of the guys display name, when the other guy at spawn gets builds while the owner is still waiting the for the guy to place the wide snowman, the guy at spawn will be able to steal valuables undetected.
I though a guy wanted to help me with an auto farm, but they stole my tier 3 workbench (the other stuff wasn't that hard to get back he stole some fire flies), but my friend Who was in the same server gave me a new tier 3 workbench because he already had one. I have a great friend. Edit:Also this was a while ago.
the first two happened to me and my cousin, the first happened during a harvest event, when someonewanted to "give" me a cletus statue for a golden sickle, he ran away with it. It made me so mad. the second one happened when me and my cousin decided to invite all of our online roblox friends, and let them look around. One of the people took most of my cousins valuables.
Hey DV plays i just found a tricks that you can make a real pond just do a bucket then go to the fishing place then go into the water jump and click anywhere then go to your island back and put it in your pond/swimming pool so you dont need a lot of the blue blocks and wasting your money over it :)
Another scam I’ve only seen once is where on someone’s like store island there will be two vendings with a item you probably wouldn’t have in one vending that you buy for like, a million coins. And the other would say sell that item for 100m coins so you think it’s legit and you buy the thing for a million and try to sell but there’s no money in it. Luckily I didn’t fall for it.

Some people say theyre AFK and by ur vendings, if they just came to your island from disc and theyre putting smth in but they say theyre afk, TURN THEIR BUILDS OFF, the same happened to me, never let other ppl have build on ur island unless its your: alt, friend or someone u ACTUALLY trust
Yep.. I quit islands because this dude robbed my hard earned stuff behind my back. He even stole my smelter right in front of me after stealing my other stuff in the chests. He pretend to place down a totem in front of the smelter and break it, but he was breaking the smelter. Then he left

same thing jappened on me a guy wanted to scam my starfruit seeds for pink gear ans i he said do run and pick up and i droped 1 starfruin not seeds and hw kicked him but i scammed him cuz he was a scammer so

She pretended to be a noob and said she is building a surprize. And when he came back his automatic farms were gone. You can still see the lack of machines. He is recovering well though. Apperently the scammers name was MouldyMangos something.
I actually have got avcused of scamming once. I said i'll help and she put build on. Her friend had given her a drill but she didn't know how to use it. So she gave it to me and I placed it. One block to the side of the ore. I tried to mine it but she had already put build off. Because I tried to mine it she accused me of scamming...

The impersonation scam is now growing due to the feature “display names” it is now hard to avoid the scam because their display name could be DVwastaken

I almost got scammed when someone tryed to gain my trust by giving me free items(maybe 20k worth). I then gave build permissions but then when they started to run to my vending machine area I immediately left.
Vending machines are worth around 400K so of course he only gave you a small thing worth of money
I recently started playing Islands, and i've been giving people build permisson to help me mine stuff, but thank God they didn't mine the other stuff. Thank you for telling me, i would of kept doing that.

The build permission scam happened to me she took all my vending machines and my 250 fireflies in the vending machines(idk why I was selling fireflies)
That happened to me too. He said he would build an onion farm, went through the portal then came back into my workshop and looted it. He looted almost all of my workbenches, and since I didn't have my tier three I couldn't advance in the game, but with the help of someone close to me, I got a tier three and replaced everything I lost.

I found a new scam today and its quite scary, so this is how it went. A guy was in my island and asked builds to place a wide snowman, normal people would know its a scam but he asked me to go to another spot where there was less valuables hoping to gain my trust but the truth is, there was another guy camping on my valuables back at spawn with the same username as the guy’s display name who said he was going to place the wide snowman. How people would get scammed is that they would assume the guy placing the wide snowman was the only person with that username in the server and give perms to the guy when they see the name, but actually gave perms to the other guy with the actual username of the guys display name, when the other guy at spawn gets builds while the owner is still waiting the for the guy to place the wide snowman, the guy at spawn will be able to steal valuables undetected.

I though a guy wanted to help me with an auto farm, but they stole my tier 3 workbench (the other stuff wasn't that hard to get back he stole some fire flies), but my friend Who was in the same server gave me a new tier 3 workbench because he already had one. I have a great friend.

the first two happened to me and my cousin, the first happened during a harvest event, when someonewanted to "give" me a cletus statue for a golden sickle, he ran away with it. It made me so mad. the second one happened when me and my cousin decided to invite all of our online roblox friends, and let them look around. One of the people took most of my cousins valuables.
Hey DV plays i just found a tricks that you can make a real pond just do a bucket then go to the fishing place then go into the water jump and click anywhere then go to your island back and put it in your pond/swimming pool so you dont need a lot of the blue blocks and wasting your money over it :)
Another scam I’ve only seen once is where on someone’s like store island there will be two vendings with a item you probably wouldn’t have in one vending that you buy for like, a million coins. And the other would say sell that item for 100m coins so you think it’s legit and you buy the thing for a million and try to sell but there’s no money in it. Luckily I didn’t fall for it.

Some people say theyre AFK and by ur vendings, if they just came to your island from disc and theyre putting smth in but they say theyre afk, TURN THEIR BUILDS OFF, the same happened to me, never let other ppl have build on ur island unless its your: alt, friend or someone u ACTUALLY trust
Yep.. I quit islands because this dude robbed my hard earned stuff behind my back. He even stole my smelter right in front of me after stealing my other stuff in the chests. He pretend to place down a totem in front of the smelter and break it, but he was breaking the smelter. Then he left
