@@rotebeete1267 yep! there will be a vinyl release at some point a couple months after the album drops online. still sorting out details w/ that with the label. once i know more i'll def be making announcements on all my social media and this yt channel as well, so keep ur eyes peeled 👀

This is right up there as one of my favorite songs ever made, right next to Hanging Lanterns. There is something so dreamy and calm to this song that also feels like you're going on an exploration downtown.

How do you make your mixes so clean? I've listened to them on my phone at full volume and they're flawless!
glad to hear it :) i don't do anything too fancy, I use just standard EQ, compression, reverb, and try and cut out any mud in the mix. beyond that I try to arrange my songs musically in a way that is simple and lets every instrument have it's own space, which helps a lot in the mixing stage.

@@kalaido3667 Cool! 😃 I played the gamelan: Central Javanese, Balinese and West Javanese gamelan.
@@WeaveTheStory wow thats amazing actually- i would love to play it, but they are so expensive and hard to get a hold of, so i use a virtual instrument in my tracks instead. did you play in an ensemble? how did you have access to one?
@@kalaido3667 Yeah, they are expensive due to custom made orders (it's all handmade), price of bronze, wood material and shipment. You can get cheap ones from Central Java but it's not worth as they go out of tune easily. It takes about 3 months to build a set. Then another 10 years for the bronze to stabilise so that's another few good years of investment for tuning. I did perform in an ensemble and was associated to institutions. I'm not sure where you might be based but I tend to go to university or colleges that have gamelan ensembles. You can purchase individual instruments but best to get from one source i.e. gamelan maker. Every gamelan set is tuned differently.

not sure if intentional, but 'kami' means 'us' in Malay. nothing special, except there's another word for 'us', which is 'kita'. the difference is the former refers to 'us' excluding the listener while the later includes the speaker. not used in many other languages I've come across and this song reminds me of it
