Hey Alan you did get that contact in and amazing with a 9 ft antenna. Cheers and we do need your location for the video and to gauge the distance. Many more to come
Hi DREW AND GLEN and all, I'm living in ENGLAND just outside LONDON near LUTON, which is 25miles from LONDON. Anyway great to know that I got out on a bag SKIP day and like GLAN said I'm on a 1/4 wave boomerang, and my call sign is CT, 48/70. well I'm very impressed with just making it for just a few seconds, and DREW thanks for hearing me I could hear you but the conditions were not good, I've got everything ready to go up but just waiting on the weather. Hope you are both very well there's been a lot of people with flu symptoms over here the last month, so trying not to catch it myself. GOD BLESS to you all and hope your families are well to. Anyway take care of yourselves and hopefully speak soon Alan Ct26/48/70.🙏🙏🇬🇧🇺🇲👍👍
Hey Alan, I have it now in the log book. Once I read the coment I remembered. LOL. Yes you did get out and with the conditions at the time it was amazing. Not that many stations seem to be getting into my area so as I said impressive to say the least. I am also waiting on spring to do some antenna work and experiments. I hope your able to keep yourself well and stay away from the flu. I have a cold right now and was out working on the mail box and replacing a bolt and nut and it was cold. So that was on me. LMAO. All is well here and its another day of snow and wind but the snow fall is just in and out and more of a pain in the butt than any real accumulation. We have about 4-10 inchs in the yard depends where the drifts are. I am glad I had the camera running when I heard you Alan. Your location will work well with the improvements your making. Best to you and yours friend. Thanks for the contact and cheers. Drew
@@cbradioghosttalk1986 take care out there DREW and hope you feel better soon. So much flu and colds going around at the moment. Just saying to GLEN setting here looking at my astro plane. And the new pole and can’t wait, but I have to because I just want to get up and do it once. I did hear that you and Glen are going to put up a directional aerial . Which will be very interesting and exciting. Take care of yourself and yours GOD BLESS Alan.🇺🇸🇬🇧👍
I understood he was from the UK his accent is English 🤷🏼♂️ I'll have to check, I have asked him a few times in the comments what his location is and call sign.
Always wondered how well the boomerang would act To me it looks like a starduster with 2 missing elements ??? Theory is sound but looks as though just not enuff antenna for regular long dx
@@user-ef3nu1eh7z He made the pond jump under very bad conditions so he did exceptionally well, the Boomerang is a full quarter wave antenna plus because of its mount it would be difficult to have very high up.. I hammered the bracket to the facia at the top of a two story house at around 16 foot from the ground.. years ago on FM to talk to the locals on groundwave and often had contacts up to 20-30 miles away on a good day.
@@DeltaXray444 back in the 70s 80s we no matter antenna size ( except those using bottom load mobile ants ) could do 40 miles easy ground wave I still think it funny talking to drivers in the industrial park 4plus miles due south and they are surprised they can talk to me on far north end of town I used to talk to one fella in tOwn not even 2 mile and we both ran 9+Sunits even the 18 plus mile away town mo biles surprised they can talk town to town 1\4 wav is similar to starduster also 1\4 but has ,ore collective aluminum
