Yes, I said "degrees Kelvin" -- My first high school chemistry teacher always said "degrees Kelvin" for whatever reason. It stuck with me. Old habits die hard. If you want to nitpick, it should be just "Kelvin" with no "degree" before it. Why you ask? Because Kelvin is on an absolute scale, whereas degrees are usually assigned to units that have an arbitrary scale, i.e., not measured against something absolute. But then, you might ask, why do we say "degrees Rankine," since that is ALSO on an absolute scale? Good question. These terminologies are really just man-made rules that sometimes make no sense. Do like me, and say whatever helps give you better clarity for physical processes like this.
Have you considered making some atomic physics basics for children videos? Your graphics plus your ability to simplify and translate advanced concepts would be extremely useful in explaining things like gravity, atoms, EM waves, etc to children.

The more of these types of vid you watch, you'll find in time you start getting a rather well rounded amateur physicist understanding and can pick it up easier. That said, I have to give up on some vids when it gets into complex theoretical arguments based on math. I love astronomy but to understand the macro I find it helpful to understand the micro because all the elements here are out there in the furthest distance of the observable universe. Whatever is here on earth is out there. We're the dust of third generation stars (so the current thinking goes).

From this fantastic explanation we can see that the division between fermions and bosons is an artificial one. Same goes for the integer/half-integer spin. It's just a useful convention/classification to somehow group the particle zoo into something resembling a sound model but there's clearly an underlying symmetry that can explain superconductivity and more. Brilliant video!

Room temperature yes but at hundreds of Gigapascals. For context the next step up in pressure is only found deep within giant planets and degenerate stars and or substellar objects. In general the more pressure you apply the higher temperatures superconductors can exist at so this likely explains the extreme electrical conductivity of white dwarfs and neutron stars. A newer interesting domain of superconductivity is within very high elements primarily depleted Uranium as there there is a superconducting domain within strong magnetic fields.

Sure, Arvin pronounced "Satyendra" like it's done in _some_ Indian languages, including Hindi. But Satyendra Nath Bose was _Bengali,_ and the Bengali pronunciation is different-it's more like "Shotendro Naath Boshu." See the problem? You assumed that _your_ pronunciation is correct. No doubt, in your language, and in many other Indian languages, that is how the name "Satyendra" in general would be pronounced. But when speaking of Satyendra Nath Bose specifically, the Bengalis-including Satyendra Nath's own family, descendants, and community-will disagree with you. That leads to the question: What is the "correct" pronunciation of a name? If it's OK for a Hindi speaker in Delhi, when speaking to a Hindi audience, to pronounce "Satyendra" Hindi-style, then what's wrong with an American speaker, speaking in English to a (predominantly) American audience, pronouncing a foreign name in an Americanized fashion? Do you remember the controversy when Donald Trump botched the pronunciation of "Vivekananda"? The controversy was not that Trump botched it; the controversy was over the "correct" pronunciation of the name. All the Hindi news channels were full of how it should have been pronounced. this is key, because one thing that is lost in the "electrons filling in shells" diagrams we see all the time is that electrons don't fill shells individually, because there is no such thing as an individual electron. If you have 50 electrons in 50 states, each electron is in a superposition all 50 states in such a way that swapping any 2 electron labels flips the sign of the state. Weird, but it leads to the PEP...though it is much deeper.

Great video! Also is important that in addition to a critical temperature, there's also a critical current and critical magnetic field where superconductivity breaks. Having zero resistance doesn't necessarily means you can flow high currents.
A chapter of a textbook I’m using for Modern Physics goes into Superconductivity, and it really made me wanna watch a lot of videos on that matter. I was able to find out that superconductivity is applied in magnetic levitation; an example of that matter would be in maglev trains!

Yes, I said "degrees Kelvin" -- My first high school chemistry teacher always said "degrees Kelvin" for whatever reason. It stuck with me. Old habits die hard. If you want to nitpick, it should be just "Kelvin" with no "degree" before it. Why you ask? Because Kelvin is on an absolute scale, whereas degrees are usually assigned to units that have an arbitrary scale, i.e., not measured against something absolute.
But then, you might ask, why do we say "degrees Rankine," since that is ALSO on an absolute scale? Good question. These terminologies are really just man-made rules that sometimes make no sense. Do like me, and say whatever helps give you better clarity for physical processes like this.

The more of these types of vid you watch, you'll find in time you start getting a rather well rounded amateur physicist understanding and can pick it up easier. That said, I have to give up on some vids when it gets into complex theoretical arguments based on math.
I love astronomy but to understand the macro I find it helpful to understand the micro because all the elements here are out there in the furthest distance of the observable universe. Whatever is here on earth is out there. We're the dust of third generation stars (so the current thinking goes).

2) I don't know very much about english grammar (my mother language is not english), but I understand that implicit use of conjunctions is valid, like in "that", at least in popular language.

From this fantastic explanation we can see that the division between fermions and bosons is an artificial one. Same goes for the integer/half-integer spin.
It's just a useful convention/classification to somehow group the particle zoo into something resembling a sound model but there's clearly an underlying symmetry that can explain superconductivity and more.

There is superconductivity in room temperature! Arvin, you're a superconductor of knowledge, spreading wisdom so well that it does not bump into resistance, and no information is lost. And I guarantee that I watched your video in room temperature. Wow!
Room temperature yes but at hundreds of Gigapascals.
For context the next step up in pressure is only found deep within giant planets and degenerate stars and or substellar objects.
In general the more pressure you apply the higher temperatures superconductors can exist at so this likely explains the extreme electrical conductivity of white dwarfs and neutron stars.
A newer interesting domain of superconductivity is within very high elements primarily depleted Uranium as there there is a superconducting domain within strong magnetic fields.

I appreciate it that you're trying to compliment Arvin. But unfortunately, for the sake of accuracy, I have to point out that you are wrong. Sure, Arvin pronounced "Satyendra" like it's done in _some_ Indian languages, including Hindi. But Satyendra Nath Bose was _Bengali,_ and the Bengali pronunciation is different-it's more like "Shotendro Naath Boshu."
See the problem? You assumed that _your_ pronunciation is correct. No doubt, in your language, and in many other Indian languages, that is how the name "Satyendra" in general would be pronounced. But when speaking of Satyendra Nath Bose specifically, the Bengalis-including Satyendra Nath's own family, descendants, and community-will disagree with you.
That leads to the question: What is the "correct" pronunciation of a name? If it's OK for a Hindi speaker in Delhi, when speaking to a Hindi audience, to pronounce "Satyendra" Hindi-style, then what's wrong with an American speaker, speaking in English to a (predominantly) American audience, pronouncing a foreign name in an Americanized fashion?
Do you remember the controversy when Donald Trump botched the pronunciation of "Vivekananda"? The controversy was not that Trump botched it; the controversy was over the "correct" pronunciation of the name. All the Hindi news channels were full of how it should have been pronounced. But here's the funny thing: They were all wrong! They were all pronouncing it the Hindi way. But Vivekananda was Bengali (again!), and the native pronunciation is more like "Bibekaanondo." The Bengali channels were quick to point out the hypocrisy of the Hindi people complaining about Trump's pronunciation, when they themselves wouldn't pronounce it correctly.
By the way, the "Nath" in Satyendra Nath Bose should not be omitted. Following American convention, Arvin assumed that "Nath" is a middle name and can be omitted without harm. But it's not an American name; it's a Bengali Indian name. "Nath" is not the middle name; it's part of the first name. In fact, his first name is "Satyendranath". It's broken up when writing in English to make it easier for non-Indians to read. But it remains part of the first name.
Dealing with names across languages and cultures is a complicated issue.

I second that. I’ve heard the Pauli Exclusion Principle referenced in describing how Neutron stars form. But, I don’t understand it.
this is key, because one thing that is lost in the "electrons filling in shells" diagrams we see all the time is that electrons don't fill shells individually, because there is no such thing as an individual electron. If you have 50 electrons in 50 states, each electron is in a superposition all 50 states in such a way that swapping any 2 electron labels flips the sign of the state. Weird, but it leads to the PEP...though it is much deeper.
I also second that. It would be nice to know what causes somebody to come up with it, and why it should be the case, going beyond just memorizing 'how' it supposedly works.
I am sure only Arvin could explain it better than anybody else.

that's so.. wow. i had a pretty good grasp of how electricity worked and had a head start on how superconductivity might work, but i could not have predicted this. no wonder we were struggling so long with trying to figure out how superconductivity works. it wasn't that long ago i was talking to one of the scientists at the magnetic laboratory and they were saying how nobody has a clue how this happens. frontier research. it's so cool to see a breakthrough like that in my lifetime.. and so early in it too.

Great video! Also is important that in addition to a critical temperature, there's also a critical current and critical magnetic field where superconductivity breaks. Having zero resistance doesn't necessarily means you can flow high currents.
Makes sense. After all, the number of available Cooper pairs is finite. So you can't have more current than that without breaking something else.

A chapter of a textbook I’m using for Modern Physics goes into Superconductivity, and it really made me wanna watch a lot of videos on that matter. I was able to find out that superconductivity is applied in magnetic levitation; an example of that matter would be in maglev trains!
