This oltl won a ton of Emmys for writing 3 actors roger susan & hbs & they so were deserving. Oltl must have been stoked to find a new leading male that was 24 years old. They were trying for years to find a new lead after the 80s Jason suede a sorased kevin even Powell as he was a blood relative of vikis. Roger was so good all these actors got tossed. Suede & Jason's ex cons with attitudes werent nearly as compelling as todd. Powell was the weaker of the two actors & people hated him as the " good rapist " who got like 3 months while todd & zack got 8 years. They all raped her & in a way powell was worse bc he knew it was wrong & did it anyway. He was a coward. The actor playing kevin was imo the best kevin but in comparison to todd & sorased little brother joey he was too short. Roger & nathan were 6'0 plus. Geiger was about 5' 7. Marty was taller. What's ironic is Marty never had chemistry with any of her men as good as with roger. She just came to life in her scenes with roger after the rape story wound up & they were co existing in the same town.
soapunk I agree I remember when Todd was falsely back in court and she told him if he was guilty the court would come down like a hard rain in November. I have a question if a lawyer halfway through a trial knows her client is guilty can they quit?

She also played a judge on svu one of my faves where an insane 12 year old killed a kid & the dumb svu team believed his story he was tortured at some camp then they investigated after that the kid was actually torturing the other kids. Ada casey ran in saying the kids needed to be tried as an adult but Fitzie said they were already through the trial if they stopped it b4 going to jury double jeopardy attaches the kid goes totally free. That kid was like the jr high version of todd manning smugly telling the dad " so sorry ur sons dad " then Kyle Mclaughlin as the dad awesomely grabbed a dumb ballifs gun & blew the kid away. Loved the dad got off & admitted to stabler " yea i faked being crazy but Jake would get out in 6 years & kill again i won't " great ep. So sad the nyc soaps are all gone b/c so many actors & character actors got roles on svu also in nyc. Anyway Fitzie of course played a judge who wasn't taking the ada or svu teams mistakes at all. I wish she disbarred nora who blew dorians very winnable case about a 20 year murder & literally refused to keep after bo ( the worst commissioner who targeted rj & todd but went easy on people he liked ! Nora too. What a conflict nora had all doroans evidence in the same house as the man who arrested dorian only hrs after he got the job somehow. Ugh bo & Nora did not need those jobs esp when they were dating married remarried & had a child.
I mean Nora begged her to let her off the case as a lawyer what do u do if u don't believe ur clients anymore? I get though why fitzie wouldn't let her change of lawyer towards the end would cause a mistrial. The clients can change a lawyer but a lawyer quitting looks like the client is guilty influencing a trial. I don't know how any lawyer could defend a rapist or pedophile but everyone is entitled to the best defense esp bc the person could be innocent
I always loved that even though they butted head a lot when the chips were down hank and nora could count on eachother could see that even though she did the "LEGALLY Wrong" thing her ex-husband was NEVER Prouder of her
Nora deserved to be disbarred u dont tank ur clients case all b/c bo rachel & kevin bullied her. Carol swift going to nora her story about todd sounded like buyers remorse. She told nora she crushed on todd they danced got drunk he invited her to his room they started having sex & she admitted she didnt say yes or no. Todd left she was scorned he didn't want to date her. Of course we know todd & co were guilty but nora needed to let it go to the jury. Marry is lucky powell confessed due to todd being crazy & going after marry in an alley. If he stayed quiet layed low hank tood marty the attitney grneral was never going to retry the case. I also think it would have been a hung jury anyway i mean just b/c marty was a proven liar its s far stretch from her pretending to be gang raped! Plus the bruises the clinicians a priest found her , clothes underwear rippped to shreds. I think at least one juror would have made it a hung jury. No way looking at all the evidence would every juror aquitted. Just b/c the banner wrote they believed their would be one ? Plus that juror needed to be sequestered. Plus nora was martys defense attorney & used privledged info to heap on she was a liar. Cinflict much. Plus i hated how powell got like a month in prison no parole therapy court irdered a bracelet just moved into vikis w/ 3 kids including a teen jesse. All b/c powell was sorry. He should have thought of that when he locked the door watched as todd & zack gang raped her then did it too!! Also he never ever broke on the stand. Yet years later he was still blamed for powell raping nurses attacking rebecca stabbing todd framing him & lunatic kevin was all poor powell. Also kevin hated todd for years saying he almost got him convicted. Todd never said kevin did anything marty was confused & blamed kevin too. In fact todd was stunned marty blamed kevin too even asking the other 2 " i cant figure out how kevin got dragged into this" todds story was always about the 3 of them. Yet again kevin blamed him for being arrested. Todd never said " she invited kevin in for consensual sex" thats why nora only should have taken kevins case the other 3 shouod have gotten their own lawyer

Once a trial starts, clients generally need both a good reason and a judge's permission to change attorneys.
