My concerns are Truck accidents. What happens during or after the wrecks to the tanks of hydrogen.

Hydrogen costs $36 a Kg in California. Each Kg gets you about 60 miles in a ~190 HP Toyota Mirai. The Mirai costs about $180 for a full tank of just over 5 Kgs. 70 Kg of Hydrogen would cost $2,520 for at most 500 miles in this truck. That is $5.04 per mile of travel. Hydrogen will never be financially feasible.

Your comment is very short-sighted. Imagine that all transportation relied on hydrogen. Now, imagine California was rolling out a new fuel source called gasoline. How much would a kilogram of gasoline cost? I would say more than $36 a kilogram since extracting, refining, and creating the infrastructure is expensive. Gasoline is less costly now due to the economy of scale. Imagine if your grandparents would have invested in hydrocarbons during the early days. We are in the infant stage of a hydrogen rush. Don't be left behind!

@@PROXYCARDII you don’t understand this at all. Water is basically inert in terms of how much energy it contains. Hydrogen is a store of energy and not a source of energy. It is a bad store of energy too. Gasoline is derived from petroleum products which ARE a source of energy. Sourcing Hydrogen from water is what is so expensive and it never will be economically feasible.
