In the following short video lecture, Dr. Tomer Persico argues that in its new incarnation, antisemitism perceives Jews as the source of the West's sins.
I couldn't have said it better. Exactly!!!
This is because Jews are whatever the hater wants to hate. Most of these perceptions (white, colonialism) are not even close to being true, but it doesn't matter to the hater.
These so called Academics won't let reality come into their way
❤❤❤
I don't get the order of the arguments. The man here seems to be building up to the idea that Israel is considered the embodiment of the West in the eyes of the West because the West wishes to atone for its sins, included, but not limited to, antisemitism which considers Jews at the periphery. This connection either doesn't seem to have been made, or it was made and then jumps to "And that is why anti-westernism is antisemitism" without making the connection between the radical left and this specific notion, even though the radical left here is being framed as an other to the West and the characterisation the West is making of Jews is its own perception and not necessarily the perception of the radical Left of the Jews. To put it another way, this video assumes that its perception of Jews and the West is the same, therefore the radical left not liking the West is antisemitism, despite a lack of establishing the perception the West actually has. There may have been a better argument connecting the radical Left towards things like radical Islam, but it wasn't made.
What are you talking about. Bless 🇮🇱
So, let me preface my comment by emphasizing that I have mad respect for Yad Vashem. I think they do incredibly important work and I have learned a lot from them. I also respect Israelis’ desire to have their own state, in the harrowing historical context. (Even if I do not think the specific geographical placement should have happened as it has, to the enormous detriment of local communities, something I fault the other western countries for more than Israel itself.)
Anyway. That out of the way. I’m not sure I’m completely persuaded by the idea being expressed here. It just seems too fluffy and abstract. Maybe I just don’t have enough exposure to the “radical left” even sitting on the left as I do in American politics, but it would seem to me that sympathy toward the dire living situation of the Palestinians as well as appalling footage of a leveled Gaza and news of disease outbreaks and starvation and children crushed under rubble are quite enough to create opposition to the Israeli state among common people, without any grand poetic motivations having to do with redeeming the West for its sins.
I don’t mean to create animosity toward Israelis here - I think their state is really the entity to blame. Speaking as an American, I reflect on some of the ways the crimes of my own country in distant lands tend to emerge like a bad nightmare, only widely discovered after the fact. We have aggressive government propaganda campaigns here that we are constantly subjected to in order to build public support for things that nobody really understands the consequences of until it’s too late. So I consider that most Israelis are similarly probably no more shielded from the manipulations of their state than we are, and I always try to remember that when I form my perspective of what’s going on.
antisemitism and antizionism are not interchangeable terms, anticolonialism is not a far left exclusive idea
West is the best
I prefer to live here in China, but I wish Israel and the Hebrew people all the best.

Very very interesting, shkoyach
Can you do a breakdown about the Hannibal Directive that Yoav Gallant admitted to on Israeli TV?
I think that refers to declaring there is a hostage situation and making emergency measures to free them. But this isn't in the scope of this channel, it is more of a military thing.
Please post a link to where Yoav Gallant says it was given as an order.
@@goldenbox7803 I can't post a link on UA-cam. Google it. Israel's Channel 12.
The eternal victimhood of these people is tiring. They are incapable of co-existing with humanity in peace.
Oh my! The muzlims are really the victiim 😢. Israel 🇮🇱
So you hate the Jew, and then lo and behold have decided that we are incapable of existing with you. How convenient for you. I have a better one:
The eternal satanic hatred of you and your ilk is tiring. You are obviously incapable of co-existing with humanity in peace.
Are you referring to the Palestinians?
@yvyvyv1 of course not. It's not the Palestinians who've been kicked out of 109 countries.
@@AmsterdamagedHQ why did the "palestinians" get kicked out so much? What did they do to deserve getting kicked out?
Why do you support hate and bigotry? Nobody is more hateful and bigoted than the "palestinians".
