There is even better: English orchestra, Italian conductor, specially when we talk about brass section, Berlin Guys are nothing special compared to BBC, London, or Metropolitan!
these guys are from dresden not berlin. just saying. and speaking of brass... imho there is currently no better french horn section than that of the berlin phils.
This finale is mushy, mixed and not crispy... and is way too fast, and even missing some notes, ... but sound at least 95% real. The best are 1. Furtwangler, then 2. Karajan and on third is 3. Thielemann.
I truly loved this conductor. So sad he has gone. Bravo for ever Maestro Sinopoli.
One of the best version of Die meistersinger!
Absolutely powerful performance and the audience should have given a standing ovation!!!!!
I NEVER TIRE OF HEARING Die Meistersinger von Nurnberg!
I NEVER tire of Die Meistersinger von Nuernburg 0verture by Richard Wagner! This piece stands out as the one of Wagner's works which I LOVE!
Oh, he's having such a whale of a time! The joy of the piece is infectious! Wagner, Sinopoli, wow. What a pity the video was such low quality!
6:05 This is a guy who loves his job.
German orchestra, Italian conductor, great combination.

@@steffang.diomedes3522 Yes, Giuseppe Sinopoli was an Italian conductor and composer.
@@1slowstar Compare Reiner with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra.
Wonderfull energetic and strong interpretation!
1998 konnte man noch Pauken spielen! Excellent!
Claus Clausmann stimmt
Yeah, great performance! Wagner is a more exciting orchestrator than lots of symphony composers.
Agreed!!!

All Wagner's strength and soul.
grande Wagner e Sinopoli era bravissimo!
Superb.
Indimenticabile Sinopoli ❤
Sinopoli lives on among the greats.
Familiar masterpiece is comfortable to the mind and ears
Bravo Sinopoli ! A. C. S.
One of the most overtures l like it
Ormandy's version is the one I first fell in love with. Maybe Sinopoli felt the same. This sounds pretty darn close.
Me too I heard him in Philly back in the sixties!
It looks good when he pointed someone around at 0:20.
!!Grandioso.¡¡
At 6:58 triangle solo could have used more "cowbell"!
conductor Giuseppe Sinopoli
What do the Japanese subtitles say?
Super
good👍👍
He died in Berlin so sad!
This is what I feed on. And nothing else.
Amazing! Just amazing, e senza parole. Unbeatable , even not by Thielemann.
The Tubaplayer Markus Hötzel plays this piece on a 5/4 Kaisertuba from Rudi Meinl. Any other Professional would take the smaller F-Tuba. :D
Best
immeasurable loss
Also, "Saxon State Orchestra, Dresden".

??
Most dramatical and pationate performance ever when he came to Japan with SKD. Was this recorded and sold by DVD or BD?

On the first is Klaus Tennstedt, please! The recording with Tennstedt in Japan is marvellous!!!
For me, the best director for this piece was Rafael Kubelik :)
I respectfully dissent. I think it was on the right tempo very, à la Wagner.
Tennstedt is # 1
Tennstedt is first
