    I’ve never had an Ebac washing machine, but out of the two models shown here I would pick it over the Chinese made, Chinese owned Hoover. I have used a Chinese made Hoover washer for a few months and although it washed OK, it would take an age to spin as the spin balance sensor is too sensitive. The quality of components used in the Hoover is poor compared to the Bosch and AEG models I have owned no not a patch on my current Miele machine.

    The washing machines used by the gadget show in the episode where they tested mobile phones in them were provided by me, so I am disappointed to see the gadget show making such a flippant piece about a subject so important to the future of the planet. Ebac are ahead in the environmental stakes by some distance. They make machines that are actually built to last. They use less resources and are built here, making their carbon footprint outstanding. Their average answering time on the phones is seven seconds and the network of engineers they use are brought to the factory for feedback and training, something that is unique. I've worked on all manufacturers machines and Ebac is the real deal in terms of customer experience and environmental credentials. They are workhorse machines that do exactly what it says on the tin. Come on the Gadget show this is important stuff!

      hoover just cannot compete there horrible cheap washers . my fiance auntie had one lasted 2 years and the tub cracked spewing water all over the floor and it was not overloaded and a 12kg model too. I dont have any experience with ebac but from what i hear they are good and pretty solid .

    Thanks for sharing. As a repairer (as I'm sure others are too here) I'm very glad to hear about a UK manufacturer making appliances here in the UK, with parts that can be serviced or replaced. Hopefully the Gadget Show will discuss service and running costs in future features, in detail, to cover this very important area.

    Hoover has a 1 year labour, 5 year parts guarantee. Ebac has a 7 year parts AND labour guarantee. Curry's, who sponsors the Gadget Show, sells the Hoover but not the Ebac 🤔

      We don't want Ebac sitting in a corner where it will never be shown for it's true credentials that's why you'll only find service engineers of the highest reputation selling these back to basics tough durable machines

    • @Martindyna
      @Martindyna Рік тому +1

      @@Ikey04-ge9gy It used to be a reasonably good brand in the 1970s. A friend of mine wanted another vacuum cleaner and thought he would stay loyal to the brand and buy another Hoover (about 15 - 20 years ago). He bought a Hoover upright only to find that the brush drive belt broke so he took it back to the shop and it was fixed, only for the second belt to snap after few uses. He then decided to buy a Miele upright and no problems since.
      It's a shame how famous brands go downhill once they have new owners; I remember Hoover made industrial electrical equipment in the 60s, e.g. the vertical drill in the Metalwork Department at my secondary school had a Hoover induction main motor, i remember the famous red Hoover logo on it's nameplate.
      That said I get the impression that perhaps the brand quality is going up again.

      Hoover has sucked ever since Italian company candy bought them out in 2006 (in terms of appliances. I wouldn’t personally touch a modern Hoover product with a bargepole, but it’s still one of the biggest washing machine brands in the uk and Ireland due to their usually large sized drums at a reasonable cost.

    Ebac do a 9kg machine, seems rather disingenuous to mark them down because you got the smallest model to test, especially on something Google told me in a couple seconds of research, when that info could’ve been easily mentioned.

    The only important test they missed was how long would they last, and eas of use. From experiance I can tell you that the wifi set up on the hoover is far too complicated and just after the warrenty exp;ired so did the machine.

  • @matthewjenkins1161
    @matthewjenkins1161 Рік тому +1

    The problem with comparisons like this, is they miss what people might really be interested in.
    The ethos behind the Ebac is ease of repair, when so many of it's competitors have become disposable goods.
    That is worth far more on a washing machine to 99% of consumers, than wifi or 2 minutes on a load.

    Load of Tosh Hoover have paid them, Ebac wins on Electricity/Water usage Ebac wins Carbon footprint Ebac wins in Manufacturers Warranty 7yrs standard with Ebac and all parts serviceable and nothing beats it on the noise test and the Hoover wobbled the jelly far more and at far more decibels plus Ebac has a far superior build Quality.

  • @shane250fr

    I don't understand why a free standing washing machine (the Ebac) is being compared to an integrated version (the hoover, you can see the points on the front panel for a kitchen door and the lack of a cover on the drain house where the skirting board would go) when hoover does plenty of free standing versions. As highlighted there was no mention of Ebacs 7 year parts a labour warranty, compared to hoovers 1 year labour 5 year parts warranty .

  • @MartArmstrong

    What an awful and clearly sponsored review. What about the aspects that matter? Warranty, quality, longevity, customer service etc. Hoover wouldn't come close in any of them.
