  • From April 18th - 21st, the Severn Valley Railway held their annual Spring Steam Gala event. The event had 9 locomotives in traffic supplemented by various members of the home fleet and 3 guest locomotives. Visiting for the weekend were A1 Terrier no. 72 Fenchurch from the Bluebell Railway, joined by Lambton Colliery Railway 0-6-2T no.29 from NYMR and GWR 1366 Class no. 1369, the latter was a substitute guest for 6880 Betton Grange, which was originally going to attend, but was unable to do so in the end.
Throughout the weekend there was full line services, with local and goods trains also running. For several years now I've attended the Spring Gala without fail. I usually only do the 1 day of the event, this year we ended up going on the Friday and Sunday. I was filming at Eardington Bank, taking advantage of the various spots to film there and Highley.

A great weekend and the weather was great as well throughout the weekend for the most part. Well done to everyone at Severn Valley for hosting another great show. I look forward to the next one.
