By the way, Trader Jack, thank you for this so much. I have about four consecutive years of Continental/Alabama that I taped, and have transferred, but I haven't seen as much Memphis. I lived in northwest Alabama and could get both, but just couldn't commit to keeping up with both of them at the time. This is pure gold to me, LOL.
Yeah, that happened every once in a while with the studio matches. It seems to have happened even more often when they were showing info about the towns they were going to have upcoming shows in.
Sid debuted as LH in Continental (in Alabama, the Fullers' promotion that was sold to David Woods) just a few months later -- with Downtown Bruno as his manager.
Don't know if anyone noticed but, the headline for the first match has Tanaka's name spelled "Takaka". It's funny because if you were to pronounce it, it would be "Tuh-Kah-Kuh" which is Spanish for "To S#@t".

Whoa, whoa, whoa. If you have your own Continental footage, please share it. There are a lot of missing shows.
Thanks for this. Takes me back to Sat morning 11am in Louisville market
You're welcome! I'm happy I could help folks relive some of those memories.

If you check out Van Camp's upper body, you can tell it's not Sid, who was in fantastic shape and a LOT younger than Jeff.

The mask gimmick is sooooooooooooo funny.
I thought Lawler in early '87 was when he was in the feud with Idol & Rich.
He was. This was when Bam Bam was first brought in and then he would soon team with Lawler in the feud.
That's actually not Sid. That's Jeff Van Camp.
Jeff Van Camp only played the part in 84....Sid played the part in 87

You know what? Could be Mike. Definitely NOT Sid, not flaming, just for sure it's not him. Sid wasn't yet in wrestling.
