Nice looking canola crop you have there, and a nice swather to cut it down too. I used to have one just like it, even had the same big "turf" tires. Yes, they could be a big problem in a wet year, but in a normal year they worked great as they didn't do much damage to the swath when driving (or pivoting) over it.
How'd you end up with a Deere swather? I thought most everything else you have is Case IH, ha ha! Great video! I like watching how you guys farm up north. We don't have any swathers and such here in Illinois, ha ha!
It was close to home in excellent condition and the previous owner even delivered it to my yard so it was an offer I couldn't refuse. No regrets. Its built in Canada by Macdon for John Deere.
Dad said it showered like 5 times today but the neighbors from Sasky are combining their wheat [5 miles away] some farmer from your province came and bought out the old hutterity colny and they moved up north. anyways when swathing canola does it ever seem to bunch up on one side then slow down the canvas on that side then piles up and over weighs everything. u got any tips for a new operator??
Good day To you both. Swathing looks good. Now far are you guys from Corner Gas lol I'm from Ont. & Sunday morning they use to have corner gas on I really like it when combine tur town or when they hd Allis pulling barn Thanks
True but it depends on who did the swathing and how good a job they did. I've seen some "beaver huts" of canola that would plug any combine no matter how big. The newer ones are easier to unplug though.
Hi, i am still just 16, 2 weeks be 17, got a twin brother so i ussally do all the swathing he combines, we got loads of old swathers, some for parts others dad converted them into log hauling carts, work pretty cool. have u ever done a review on ur swather cause we use 2 for swathing, a versitle 400 for flat crops and outside round, its easy to start and operate, just get in set the steering to lock and start and go, the main swather is a 4400 well its totally different, get in turn the key, nothing, turn the steering a inch try starting, nothing, it might take 10minutes before u start it or find the right place for the steering as there is no lock, then the throttle can loosen and slow everything down , its really a shit design or upgrade.

Doug Schmit II Roosty 6 has a 7721 combine
@@randykrochak1185 Thats right and don't forget the 2140 tractor and 1610 cultivator that I use to apply anhydrous.
Nice swath. Some barley and oat's combined in our area they say. I'm still in hospital getting knee replacement done. Thank you for the video.
Thanks for watching and good luck with the new knee.(s)
Been wondering when we would hear from ya again haha
Had to wait for a rainy day to edit and upload something.

How do ya like the turf tires on it?
Good except in mud. I think they will be a very expensive tire to replace when the time comes. But then what isn't?
@@roosty6 ya you can say that again... mine had brand new traction lugged tires on it. It's amazing in the mud actually lol

@@donvoll2580 about 2 hours east lol
I think its an hour more South of me. I never did watch the show but hear some like it.
i see why you have a axle flow combine. old massey ferguson would struggle with that tough green stuff
Straw breaks up pretty good if its dry. I think the old Massey might do ok as long as it was an even swath. Its only 21 feet.
860 massey would go through a 21 foot swath at 6 mph lol

Versatile sold a lot of swathers around here too. I still see the occasional 400.
