I know it’s been a long time since I posted a polymer clay video on this channel. I was posting polymer clay tutorials on DreamWorksTV, but other than that, I have been too busy with college and work to film tutorials, or even craft in general.
It makes me sad to not have the time to work with polymer clay, and I know you guys have missed these videos a lot!! And for those of you who have disliked my huge amount of unboxing videos, I’m sorry for that too. I do love making those videos, but I’m going to get back to making more clay, kawaii, and candy kit videos to balance everything out :) Thanks again for sticking around during my UA-cam journey!! Supplies Used:
Polymer clay is a clay that needs to be baked in an oven in order to harden, and can be found at your nearest craft store or online (google search it!)
You can always replace any clay color to suit your needs, and translucent clay is optional:
» Brown, white, yellow, translucent, blue, orange, green, purple, and pink polymer clay
» Rolling pin
» Circle cutter
» Star icing tip
» Blunt clay tool
» Acrylic paint
» Dotting tools
» X-acto knife or a craft blade
» Needle tool
» Eye pins, head pins, or eye screws to make it a charm
» Liquid polymer clay (optional)
» White flat bottle caps (for plates, optional)
» Glaze (optional)
BAKING
Different polymer clay brands have varying baking instructions. Please refer to your clay’s package instructions, or get help from an adult to prevent discolored or burnt clay. I used Sculpey III and Premo! clay, which was baked at 275 degrees F for about 25 minutes.

The surface I work on is called the Sculpey Work 'n' Bake mat. I purchased it at my local craft store in the clay aisle.

@@CoolRiceBunnies hi! Question to a very old video but on some white clay and mix of a white glue to make a video of frosting on your polymer clay cupcakes how do you finish it? Do we wait a few hours or days for the white frosting to be done or do we put it back in the oven? I’m lost and I would greatly appreciate this tip 😅
@@limelight3764 hi there! I don’t use white glue to make my polymer clay frosting. It’s a mixture of clay and “translucent liquid sculpey” aka liquid clay. Fimo also makes a version called “fimo deco gel”. This mixture needs to be baked just like polymer clay to harden. You can find it in craft stores in the clay aisle or online!
I would not mix regular glue with polymer clay to make frosting. If you wanted to use glue you could mix it with something like air dry clay after the rest of your project has been baked so it can air dry.

Great video and congrats on the 4 years! :D I am just starting out with polymer clay and I'm finding it to be leaving way too many fingerprints and is kinda hard to work with. Would this be because of how soft it is and should I try wiping some of the oil off?
+Error Loves Pi thank you!! And yes, your clay might be too soft. I would try "leeching" the clay: smush the clay between two sheets of regular printer paper and let it sit overnight. All the excess oil will soak into the paper and your clay should be easier to work with. If you Google search leech polymer clay, I'm sure picture examples will show up! Hope that helps :)

WOAH I've never though to make the icing look scalloped like that. Here I was making all the icing peices by hand 😕 I absolutely love this tutorial. I think I'm gonna follow it, but with some alterations to be my mini birthday cake! (I have this odd tradition of making a clay birthday cake for my self every year 😂🎂)

Do you prefer Fimo or Sculpey polymer clay?
Personally I use Sculpey a lot more (Premo! not Sculpey III), but I do have a handful of favorite clays from the Fimo Effect line :)
what liquid clay do u use? I don't know what to use.
In this tutorial I used Translucent Liquid Clay. You can also use Bake n Bond or Fimo Deco Gel! Any liquid clay will work :)
