This is a tough one. THE LAST WALTZ was one of the best LP's ever released. Robbie was one of the most iconic members of a band filled with icons. RIP Robbie. You will never be forgotten. 😢💔✌🇨🇦
As someone born in 1960, I can honestly say that The Band was North America's house band. They represented both Canada and the USA 's diverse music cultures in such a brilliant way.
From an R.H. King alumni and fellow Scarberian, I bid you a fond farewell. Thank you for the soundtrack to my life. R.I.P Robbie. "Acadian driftwood, Gypsy tailwind They call my home, The land of snow Canadian cold front, Movin' in What a way to ride, Oh what a way to go"
This is just such sad news. Robbie always seemed shy, reserved, never drew attention to himself, but was a genius none the less. My sympathies to his family, his friends, his colleagues, his fans and all who came in contact with this great, gentle icon. He is one of our Canadian treasures. RIP Robbie
He was a brilliant songwriter and accomplished musician. His work with The Band was nothing short of a masterpiece. So many songs that he wrote for The Band that I have listened to and loved. Rest in peace, Robbie. To his wife and kids, my condolences.
So sad. Humble. An indigenous giant. Genius. Great guitarist. So relatable. Master of the silence between notes. Pioneer of Roots music. Cool beyond compare.
@@patience1969-t3l- Levon Helm probably wrote most of The Band's music and Robbie took the money and the credit. Levon died poor in Woodstock New York area.
The Band and Robbie Robertson are a guiding light for Canadian musicians, and indeed musicians worldwide. RIP Robbie. Your music lives on in the folk rock cannon.
Robbie Robertson was a part of one of the finest early rock bands . Levon Helm was the driving force along with Rick Danko producing such great harmony. Rest in peace Robbie Robertson.
Robbie was one of my favourite musicians. Being a true Canadian, Six Nations, he was one of our great ones, in the Band, solo, and, of course, the Last Waltz, a video I own and watch regularly. R.I.P. Robbie. The world is a lesser place without you! 🇨🇦🖖🏻🇨🇦
Robbie was one of the "Great Ones". I grew up listening to "The Band" while living in lower NY State. They were our "home town" band. I still have the original LP's.

I've had long Band binges where I didn't listen to anything else. My favorite song is Rags and Bones. It always moved me but I'm really going to cry the next time I play it.
Loved Robbie's band from the time I heard Music From Big Pink way back in the late 60's. Saw him and his Band cohorts in Sydney Australia With Bob Dylan in 1966. One if the three greatest concerts I've ever attended. His solo work was great too. Very sad loss. RIP Robbie!
He had influence on movie soundtracks and one my favorite songs he ever did was 'Broken Arrow', featured at the end of the movie Beyond the Law. Great musician and song writer that left his impression on the music and entertainment world forever. RIP Mr. Robertson.
A class act from day 1. Represented himself and our country so well in the world’s stage. Cherish the greats while you can, there’s fewer and fewer every day.
Thank you Robbie Robertson for your contribution to humanity. Your brothers and sisters from across the globe love you! I've been to Kokomo. Thank you!
The Band, Big Pink, The Last Waltz (and his great tandem with Eric Clapton) Broken Arrow, Big Sky, American Roulette, The Weight ….. just so many gems to treasure, from a unique talent who added exactly what was needed and where. RIP Robbie - you will always have a huge admiring audience. Sincere condolences to your family, from New Zealand. 👍😎🇳🇿✨🌹
I was shocked to hear we’ve lost Robbie. Such a talented man. Wasn’t he just working on Killers of the Flower Moon? Sending condolences to the family and the country.
He will be missed... I'm happy I found him at a young age. ( I was 19) now 45. I knew he had something unique the first time I've heard his music.❤ Rest in heaven!😢 He reminds me of Bruce Hornsby and Daniel Lanois. Somewhere in between. :)
Condolences to Mr. Robinson's family. Loved his music growing up. His influence as a solo artist and a member of The Band will entertain generations of music lovers for centuries still to come! Godspeed Sir. Thank you for your timeless music.

So sad. RIP Robbie & condolences to family & friends. Whenever I had home visits from overseas, Sis and I watched The Last Waltz. We loved Robbie & the Band.
From watching this news clip, it's obvious that Robbie Robertson is one of the most underrated musicians of all time. From his time with The Band, to being a collaborator with people like Martin Scorsese, lots of people of future generations have felt his influence. Well, I would say that he lived longer than many other musicians in the rock 'n' roll genre as well as being able to contribute as much as he could as far as music is concerned. Robbie, rest in peace, and I hope to meet you in the afterlife.
NO where did you get that nonsense from ? He's revered and considered one of the most influential artists of all time, didn't you listen to this ? He's not underrated in any way,the total opposite, he's rated by everyone
