    Little babies ❤️ I got my torties when they were 3 weeks old and they were just as tiny as these sulcatas. Now they’re 6 years old and the size of hamburgers

    Imagine how popular of a pet sulcatas would be if they stayed baby sized or close to it their whole life

      @@ratqueen3298 same, mine is pretty big and I made kind of like a enclosure (her own area with dirt, kind of like a pond and other stuff) and she just spends the day walking around my backyard then when she gets tired or bored (or wants to get away from the sun) she gets inside her enclosure and spends the rest of the day there!

    I’m going to drill holes on the side of the tubs. Just in case if I’m not there and if I get busy and leave them outside and it rains I can be assured they will not drown.

    I have the same tub setup for my one, I have it next to my patio inside bc I’m further up north BUT I was just thinking the tortoise box and put it in castors too. I’m thinking about lining the box as well. Great vid.

    I keep my indoors in an enclosure. Female is 3 years old. Male is 2 years old. How would I tell if my female is carrying eggs and/or ready to lay eggs?

    • @ShadowsReptiles
      @ShadowsReptiles  4 роки тому

      They’re hard to tell but females get anxious before laying and they’ll walk around the edge of the enclosure a lot a few days before

    Absolutely love your setups. I usually get my mulch from the reptile expos, because I stock up for little treats for my geckos. Please keep instilling how to properly care, and setup for the baby you're giving away. I would be so happy to win your baby you're giving away. I have everything to welcome a new member to my family. They are so calming, and funny to watch. Fingers cross I win. I would send updates for sure.

    Why do some people go ape shit because other people use mulch and not eco earth?

    • @ShadowsReptiles
      @ShadowsReptiles  2 роки тому

      I HATE eco earth it always gets stuck to everything. With all the years I’ve been doing this I’ve come to love Cyprus mulch, it’s cheaper and more effective than any substrate in my opinion, and I haven’t ever had any issues with it. On the other hand I once had a beautiful rainbow boa that died because it had eco earth substrate and while eating , it pretty much shoveled a ton into its mouth and chocked up. I would only use eco earth under Cyprus mulch or mixed with something else.
