I got a bunch of bp for the Franklin and Jayla shards(yes she seems hard to source) from a bunch of quests think it was from Scotty and used my Jellyfish to grind them at the start. Make sure to do the research under starship tree and all the explorer ones under combat tree, makes them much easier. Bonus was getting a boatload of interceptor parts, which I have been using for scrapping phindra for 3-star parts for my Vi'dar and my D3

Ever since the Freebooters were introduced into the game virtually nobody is investing any time in swarm specialty ships, being Franklin or Franklin-A. Back in the day when I was coming up through the ranks, having a strong Franklin was mandatory. Now days normal run-of-the-mill players probably won't have a Franklin-A or put any time and resources toward it.
You will be better off working on the Voyager. Use the Voyager refinery to max out the Feesha. After the voyager, work on maxing out the Vidar to get a Tallios (Vidar-A) and max that out ASAP. After those in third place would be to level up the Defiant as high as you can in order to use it for solos.
