When Neelesh Mishra began speaking, his voice sounded familiar. Then he said, "Kahaniya sunata hun," and I was instantly transported back eight years. I used to listen to his stories on the radio every night at 9 PM on my keypad mobile. His voice brought back a flood of memories. Without ever seeing him in person, I can't believe how many beautiful memories I have associated with his voice alone.😍

The thankless job of being homemaker and psychology of Indian society of taking the homemaker for granted is so deeply rooted that the person who has been taken for granted not even realises something is wrong/unjust has happened with her

Watched this yesterday on OTT. No words, speechless. How can someone make such a good movie. Actually, this is not a movie, it's a CINEMA, ART. How some of the simplest of movies touch you so deeply. Send this movie to OSCARS, please. I don't know it will win or not, but will definitely get the due recognition. I am a grown ass man, and I cried like a baby yesterday, watching this. Such a good movie it is.

What I liked the most in this interview all the senior actors are letting the new comers talk a lot about their characters and experiences. This is exactly an example all seniors should do.

I watched this film and I loved it. I think people in Bollywood should understand how a small budget film can be a best film. The film has shown the real India. Even ths film has no foreign location, no big stars but after you watch it will impact your heart. Such a great movie...
Every part, every section of this movie has its own meaning and it's own message to society. A very inspiring peice. Very much expected from kiran rao and amir khan. The actors were just awesome as well. Literally left me speechless.
Kiran Rao, you have done a PHENOMENAL job. A very well MADE film. I think the individual who portrayed Deepak, his acting was absolutely spot on ; BRILLIANT.

This was a heartwarming film. The anguish felt by Deepak at losing his young wife, the naïveté of Phool, the resourcefulness of Jaya, the formidable manju maai are characters that you genuinely root for. I cried and smiled throughout.
Manju mai helped Archie and Parshya in Sairat and now helping Phool in Lapata Ladies..... She is super actor..... ❤❤❤❤❤❤

Watched it last night and I have to admit, I was blown away by the characters, the story line and felt literally like I was hovering over a small village in India and simply watching as life happened there. Such realism. We need more movies like “Laapata Ladies”
