I think Cody being a double champion works as long as they handle it as if US champ Cody and undisputed champ Cody are two practically different guys. Unifying two different titles has never made sense in wrestling, other than when there are interim titles in AEW.
They’ve already done it before with Seth Rollins when he beat Cena at summerslam in 2015
I hate unification of mid-card and world titles. It makes absolutely no sense. When the champ drops the mid-card title, why not drop the world title at the same time? If you beat the champ, you get the titles.

Aj styles clearly said in SmackDown he will earn the opportunity again to face Cody and when they cross path he beat him this time. Aj styles wants clean and fair shot for titles not cheap shot so you're theory of styles interfering is out of the question anyway.
2nd style interference won't be called earning his opportunity and won't make sense since he lose to Cody and then acting like every other heel not the respectable heel he is trying to potray himself.

This is my prediction:
We will be set to believe that Logan vs Cody will be for title unification from now up until King of the ring. They will have an absolute banger of a match and the final sequence will be one of them about to go over and then the lights go out…. Uncle howdy’s faction makes their debut/redebut. The match will undoubtedly be the main event and the show ends with the faction destroying both of them in the ring, maybe even the ref too. Finally, the show goes off the air with all the members of the faction standing tall over Logan and Cody’s body. They aren’t lifting the titles, they aren’t taunting. Simply sending a message to the entire roster.
