The famous master, O yama, was breaking three bricks lying flat on the ground. The Master was famous for his enormous strength and very hard hands. And his bricks were real.
The hand is too soft, unless you use physics, as they do here. He's hitting the part that hangs off the cinder blocks so hard that he's essentially breaking it on that edge, not with the pure force of his hand. It's similar when you see people breaking bricks or cinder blocks down the middle when it is balanced on something on both sides, which I have done. In that case it's the same, the objects it's balanced on do just as much work as your hand.
