This accounts for 94% of the territory which Israel captured in the War of 1967.
Even though Israel was not required to withdraw from the territory they liberated in a war of self defense, they have generously done so in an attempt to bring peace to the region. Unfortunately, Israel’s withdrawal from Gaza only resulted in tens of thousands of rockets being shot into their southern region in conflict after conflict. Which of course brings us to today and Hamas invading another country, massacring 1400 people and kidnapping another 240 including babies, children, woman and the elderly.
Another interesting note is that directly after the War of 1967, Israel offered to give the Palestinians all of the territory that they captured in exchange for a peace agreement. The result was what came to be known as the Khartoum Resolution, which famously included the “3 No’s.”

There is actually no real valid reason to have put up a barb wire on someone else's house because of the actions of someone in literally a different country. Besides what does Israel expect? Especially this time, considering how they are trying to put down Palestinians hard in the west bank, they are going to fight back. In 1947 the British proposed a partition in India for the creation of Pakistan for the Muslims and the Hindus in India and that's the same year that they proposed the partition for the Arabs and the Jews and just think if they would have accepted it then or the other three or four times it's been proposed all of this could have been avoided
The Arabs had a far worse territory plan than Israel. Just look up the 1947 partition plan. Pakistan isn't nearly as bad.

It is there for "security reasons". There is actually no real reason for the barb wire other than to control and punish the people in the west bank for Hamas. Obviously while this does not help Israel's case towards an end to the violent conflict.
