    Faryal, I have been making the Wilton buttercream for at least the last 20 years. Well that all changed today after I made your chocolate buttercream. I can describe the way it turned out and tastes in one word: AMAZING! Thank you so much for sending the recipe to me. This will be my go to buttercream hear going forward.

    I’m trying to fill a 3 layer 6” cake and decorate it with this buttercream. Was wondering how many batches of this I’d have to make? I always have trouble knowing how much I’ll need

      I am so sorry I think I missed your comment. For 6” cake I need one batch of this recipe. It’s enough to fill in the layers and cover the 6” cake.
      Thank you

    Hello Frayal. Thankyou for sharing your recipes. I wanted to know how much buttercream would be needed to cover 2 six inch cakes. Will this recipe be enough?

    • @Scrumptiouscakesbyfairy
      @Scrumptiouscakesbyfairy 3 роки тому

      It really depends on the individual how much buttercream then add for filling and covering some do thick like me and some do thin layers. But roughly I would say this one recipe can be enough for a 6” cake.

    I like your chocolate buttercream recipe. Can I use chocolate chips instead of the chocolate bar?? May I know how many minutes you heat the chocolate bar in the microwave? Can I use white chocolate instead of milk chocolate to this recipe??

    • @Scrumptiouscakesbyfairy
      @Scrumptiouscakesbyfairy 4 роки тому +1

      I prefer baking chocolate but that’s not available then chips would do. I microwave for total 1min I stir in 30sec. You can replace the regular dark chocolate to white chocolate to make the white chocolate buttercream.

      @@Scrumptiouscakesbyfairy Thank you so much Faryal. You clearly show us how to make the buttercream. It is really helpful for beginners. If i use white chocolate, do i need to add cocoa powder to get the right consistency? or can i just add white chocolate only?

    • @Scrumptiouscakesbyfairy
      @Scrumptiouscakesbyfairy 4 роки тому +1

      erandi pathirana yes no need to add cocoa powder if you are using white chocolate. Just don’t take away 2tbsp icing sugar use all 500gms. We take away that icing sugar because we add cocoa powder but if not adding cocoa powder then no need to take away the icing sugar. Hope that makes sense

    How do u make icing sugar at home? I tried chocolate ganache...but has a crispy taste of d sugar... Should i need 2 beat more time so that my sugar melts or I've done any mistake in that? I used powdered sugar in my chocolate ganache...thanks for replying...

    • @Scrumptiouscakesbyfairy
      @Scrumptiouscakesbyfairy 4 роки тому +1

      Dharini Harikrishnan ok so first of all this is buttercream not ganache. Buttercream and ganache are both different things altogether. Buttercream is made from butter and icing sugar and ganache is just chocolate and cream. You have to buy icing sugar do not try to make it from normal sugar. Sift the icing sugar before you add to the butter and beat for longer if you think it’s grainy.
      Hope this helps

    How many minutes do you beat the butter icing Mixture to get the appropriate texture.
    I tired making butter icing but it came out too soft .

    • @Scrumptiouscakesbyfairy
      @Scrumptiouscakesbyfairy 4 роки тому

      Good 5mins at least. The more you beat the fluffier it will be. If your butter is too soft then it will make the buttercream very soft. Make sure the butter is not melted. Also don’t add milk if you think your buttercream is coming soft. Especially in hot humid weather you don’t need to add milk. I add milk in winter time mostly.
      Hope this helps
