Henry is so humble. Here is a guy with a 40 year long rather consistent acting career, yet no one really credits him for really consistent acting and working for that long.
He was incredible in Legends of the Fall too. But E.T. will always be his masterpiece.And I agree, E.T. is not just a movie, it's an experience. I could watch it a million times and feel the exact same way I did the first time I saw it. What an amazing film!
Donny I am so glad I caught this video. My husband and I, bought the acreage across the street from Henry’s Grandma and Aunt M. in, 1981. Henry’s Mom and Dads farm abutted the Grams and Aunts property. My two children, Daniel and Terri used to ride the same School Bus with Henry. He was a sweet little guy, and watching this video I see he grew up and stayed true to himself. Donny could you please pass this on to Henry for me, tell him I am so proud of him, and wish him and his family many blessings. For business reasons we rented our house out and moved to New England, and we never made it back. But in my dreams I’m back in Texas on our farm, about twice a month😊.🌵🐄

God that movie is one of my favorites now that I've FINALLY seen it! ET & Cloak & Dagger are among my favorites, and I don't think it's a coincidence that Henry Thomas stared in both of them (I admire his acting as a child back in the 80's)!! I saw ET in the theater as a kid. Thing is we’d never seen anything like it before. There weren’t movies out about kids and aliens. I just remember the excitement of everyone leaving the theater completely blown away. My dad was laughing out loud.

So lucky mate. E.t.'s My favorite film as well, among many others but it's the one which holds a special place in my heart! Henry seems down to earth and awesome! The guy's been a stellar actor since childhood. I caught the film in theatres during the 25th anniversary years ago, but that version was butchered i felt, i wanted the original cut. *This* is the way to see it, outdoors in the fresh air with fans!

Something I didn't capture in my video is, before the moving began a mom brought her little girl over to me because I had my E.T. doll and a bag of reeces pieces. The girl had never seen E.T. so she wanted to know why he gets left behind in the movie. So I explained why, and after the movie I asked if she liked the movie? Her mom said she loved it!

It's best to see E.T. as a kid I think as children relate to it's themes on a deeper level, then it's even more affective when you see it again as an adult! By the way is your ET doll the one from the original line they put out in the eighties? I've been looking for the plushy with the green shirt for quite a while but the collectables are hard to come by as it's pretty saturated
No, sadly the E.T. doll I have is from the early 2000's, we got him at Universal Studios.... back when I still went to Universal Studios (that's another story ;) )
Keith Coogan is hilarious, but I could never picture him as Elliot. I met him last year at a film festival in NJ where a film I worked on was screening. He sat at his booth joking always had a little line for his fans. But during the after party, him and his wife/gf really went loose on the dance floor. So people gave them space and he was like: come on! Jump In!

Man, if there's ever another one anytime soon, I've gotta make the 4-hour drive from Vegas to LA so I can experience it, and maybe... just maybe, meet Henry Thomas like you got to! He's someone I'd really love to meet someday!

He's an inspirational figure man. Came into acting as a child in the early 1980's, been acting ever since, and while he acts, he is being a musician! He knows how to live life the right way!
