Hey man thanks for the videos. I am in the process of building my first DA army and all the info has been super helpful. I have been following your journey as well and it was awsome to see you go 5-0 at that last tournament.
Thanks a lot for the video! Very informative! But as a beginner, it's really hard for me to build a proper army list to learn the game and get to know the Dark Angels faction. I have the Army Set, the Christmas Battleforce, the Battleforce with Outriders and an ATV, Azrael, and a single Ballistus. But I can’t build anything decent from this... How ironic... I can't even make a 1000-point list. I need to buy either Scouts or Phobos units, but I'm confused about who to take and why. :(
Any thoughts on Suppressors in Vanguard with the Strike from the Shadows strat? I noticed it, but haven’t given it a go yet. Seems like it could be pretty fun there.
Fun for sure, optimal, I don't think so sadly, my major issue with suppressors is the 75 points for 6 wounds with a 3+ across 3 bodies, that is incredibly poor defensive stats. GW really need to give them 3 wounds, make their ability A LOT better or give them some kind of boost. At 25 points a model, they're a bit of a joke without a good punchline!!
I was chatting to one of the rules writers at Nottingham, can never promise but it sounds like they're thinking we are quite balanced at the moment. Was asking me how I felt about DA and I said we're in a good spot but not a crazy spot so really positive for everyone
That Ironstorm list looks like a lot of fun. I dont have 3 of each of those so I may try it out replacing some single units with redemptor, lancer, whirlwind and see how it goes.
What do you think about the librarius detachment? I'm quite into the idea of biomancing DWKs with sustained hits as well as boosting a SGVs squad to pretty much oneround out stuff like Morty.
I did a video on the Librarius detachment a couple weeks ago with all my thoughts and a trial list :) TLDR is it's fun, I don't think it's crazy competitive right now though
This was a great rundown 👍 I am fairly new so for the reasons you mentioned I prefer Gladius. But that also means I don't own any vindicators, and since I fear they will go legends with 11th ed., I don't want to by any. How do you feel about replacing them with the third Ballistus and a redemptor? Other options you think are better? Also, I have a soft spot for Hellblasters, if you had to run them, how would you do it?
Ye so strip out the vindicators and pop the units you mentioned in, it might not be perfectly optimal but those units mentioned are good enough in the strike/damage dealer role that it will work. I've written an article on list construction and I've talked a bit more in depth about damage dealers here: www.angelis-mortis.co.uk/post/elevate-your-competitive-warhammer-40-000-game-with-expert-coaching
Hey man I've noticed some people mentioning your audio, you may need to raise your master as I always have you on max and can barely hear you on max sound on the phone.
think a full mounted company of hunters is the way to go or at least 60% of the list should be mounted. To take advantage of the advance shoot and charge. That is better than you think.
I think you need to balance it between the clear super power the unit gets from the ability alongside the ability to breach and move easily. If you're a really high proportion of mounted, you're quite susceptible to being jailed and that's the fastest way to an L possible
For Ultramarines, they probably will but that's because, like the divergent chapters, they have a wealth of really good units that aren't available to other chapters. Sure they're locked in the HQ slots but they're still reeeeeaaaaaalllllyyyyy good, and it would likely mean Calgar, Roboute and Ventris could all come down in points which would be really nice to see.

Appreciate the kind words bud! Hope your list building goes well!
My god that intro music is so damn grim and contrasts with your chipper tone. I love it haha
I just want to be like Caedor in Son of the Forest, super grimdark looking but just making silly jokes half the time

Really keen on that stormraven, dwk, redemptor list. :D
Great break down of the lists.
Thank you!

By the time I build a list, gw nerfs the units,and/ or changes the rules😅

You gotta tell him fix unforgiven taskforce 😈 and maybe the other DA detachments. @@BlackCrowGamingSW
I like vanguard list, but what would you suggest taking instead of the centurions? I don’t have any

Defo worth doing, I would say avoid Whirlwinds unless in 3s as they struggle as 1 or 2 ofs

Are the 3 knight units all equipped with maces and the power weapon?
Maces and Great Weapon, yes :)
I'm hesitant on buying vindicators because their future is uncertain. Any ideas for a substitution?
These all sound like really fun lists.
Thank you!
Are hellblasters good? In combination with Azrael maybe?
Thanks Man :)
No problem, thanks for the idea! Community input is the reason I do this stuff

@BlackCrowGamingSW thanks for replying 🙏 i will definately give that a read 👍
What do you think of reverse with a phobos lieutenant
I think it's a solid strategy, not tried it myself but seen people get good results from it
What is "the primarchs playbook"? Is it a UA-cam channel? I can't find it
@azrael1045 it’s the Black Crow Gaming Space Marine series that airs every Friday at 7pm GMT
Hey man I've noticed some people mentioning your audio, you may need to raise your master as I always have you on max and can barely hear you on max sound on the phone.
Thanks bud I will keep trying with it, when it goes too high my voice gets distorted. It's such a pain

@@BlackCrowGamingSWbut what if you jail the jailer?
Why instead of 3 balisstus, you do not play 2 gladiator? Much more ap, while everythin has cover, balisstus does nothin with his minus 1 ap gun
I hope they dont take our +1 to wound. It was nice to finally feel like we were on the level as the space marines+

@BlackCrowGamingSW Then we need the space marine+ treatment and get some good units as well.
