This video is the second part of the spear fishing video that was posted last weekend. In this scenerio I discuss the type of fire that is desireable, some of the techniques that I like to use in order to make the coal bed to be optimal. If this technique is used or practiced by the viewer, it should be understood that the coal bed should correspond to the amount of fish, or, furred game, that is being cooked. There are several other issues that should be addressed, but, without personal instruction it is rather complicated to explain by the written word. The video should speak volumes and most of the important issues are clearly seen. These techniques as well as many others are covered in depth in our (E2E) training courses. We here at E2E do not teach theory we teach in a real time scenerio. Hope you enjoy the video.

Thank you for your service sir and your very useful survival tips and lessons. It's quite sad there are so many ungrateful disrespectful impatient ppl in this world who have nothing better to do than complain and be rude towards a simple video that you took time out of your life to show them. A lot of ppl choose to judge every single part of your video and call you a fraud when they have no idea what you have been through or anything about you besides the information you have shared. You were kind and gave an important lesson many ppl should know, I enjoyed your video very much and will use this when needed. I absolutely love the wilderness and living off the land so I respect what this video was teaching.
Glad you enjoyed the video and found it informative. I wish we had people out your way that gave classes, but for the time being, Madison's classes are only in Florida. So stay tuned, hopefully you will find other E2E videos to learn from. Thanks for the support! Take care

Cool method. Gonna try that my next trip for sure. You can also use a small stick to prop the fish open and use long sticks to place it over the fire (kinda like roasting a marshmellow but not in the flames). Doesnt really matter how big the flames are. Just like smoking fish in a smoker
If I ever get my veteran money I'll be down to learn it all. I missed a lot growing up but I try and do as much as I can. I love this kind of knowledge and I love the food. There's no eating like camp fire food
veteran money?
i know what you mean
Thanks for your input and for watching.
-Adam
I agree! Makes me hungry :) Thanks for watching

Really interesting video. I have never seen the blowpipe idea before, so that's good, but what made me smile was when you said that the smoke follows you around. Never a truer word spoken.
Thanks for the support!
-Adam
Glad you enjoyed the video. Thanks for watching and your support for E2E. Stay tuned, more come. Be safe

First thank you for your service to our country Mr. Madison and second great video. Never thought of leaving scales on to protect all the good stuff while cooking. Keep up the great work.
Where i live in Malta, there are loads of flat rocks, so instead of using the wood, i replace it with the stone. i never tried the wood, although i wanted to; and now ill give it a shot.
Thanks for this video, really helpful, and a joy learning from you - a great teacher Madison is. Thanks E2E; yet another great vid
nice video! this will help me alot for my next canoe camping expedition, we plan on fishing for our suppers and this will help me and my team out. btw, incase you were wondering, smoke follows you because when you are close to it, it creates low preasure and smoke goes towards low preasure, it also has to do with the oxygen your inhaling and exhaling
Glad you enjoyed the video and thanks for your support of E2E. Question is - Are you hungry now :) Take care
-Adam
Great video and thank you for your service.
Gizzard: The gizzard, also referred to as the ventriculus, gastric mill, and gigerium, is an organ found in the digestive tract of some animals, including birds, reptiles, earthworms, some gastropods and some fish. This specialized stomach constructed of thick, muscular walls is used for grinding up food. Hope you enjoyed the video
-Adam
hey guys, thanks for sharing this. brings me back to the time when i was a kid and went for hunting, fishing and cooking over the fire- trips.
whoa. I'm a young man and I've been into camping backpacking and all that for a long time. never thought of leaving the scales on to help cook it without a pan. thanks!!
Thanks for you input. Much appreciated. If you have pictures or video of your method - it would be great to share with the E2E viewers (on either UA-cam or the Equip2Endure Website). Thanks again for the suggestions. Take care
-Adam
That was really cool, thank you for your service and for giving me some of your survival knowledge.

Great video. Thanks for taking the time to show this from start to finish. Worth it!
That looks delicious, I cant wait for Spring to go fishing again. Also, if slate is readily available like it is where i am, cooking on a slab of slate works great too. Other stones work good too, but slate is so available up here i really dont really use anything else because the slate makes a perfect grill across the fire every time, every once in awhile it will break cuz of the heat but its doesnt hurt nothing obviously
learned everything i needed to know from this vid about cooking my first fish camping remote. appreciate it!
Hand forged, Burt Foster
Thanks for watching!
Truly magnificent video. I enjoyed the skills and patience displayed to achieve perfection. Awesome job E2E!
Extremely valuable and useful lesson! Thanks for sharing with the us all.
Love these kind of skills. I have great respect for all the E2E crew. Modern day techiques that mirror the 18th and 19th century native americans. Great stuff. Thanks for sharing your knowledge.
Engineman 3rd class was me in the gulf war! Thank you for teaching the Seals and me to cook fish!
I could listen to this guys accent all day. It's awesome. He never said how long to cook it or how to know when its done. Also I'm not sure if gutting a fish at your campsite or wiping your hands on your pants is a good idea in a survival situation. I liked how he identified and show us how to cook a gizzard.
thank you MR I've always wanted to live in the wild since I was 6 I am currently taking classes in survival. I live in an area were fish would be a big part of diet. your video helped me learn how to cook a fish better than my instructor.
I grew up for part of my life 1955 to 1961 down on Merrit Island,Florida.from 5yrs to 11yrs old. And we went to school half days, and fished for everything possible, minnows for bait, bigger fish to eat, blue crabs, and trapping pig fish to sell for bait, for the cash flow. And Oh ya, thank you for your service.
Hand forged, Burt Foster. Thanks for watching
-Adam
We need more people like Madison! Such a good guy
I happened upon this video (and thus, your channel) randomly. And even though I know how to cook fish on the fire just like that, still I watched the whole thing. This man did a great job showing how to do it. Let me tell you folks, that fish definitely tasted like a million bucks, guaranteed! Very nice video guys, great job. I checked your channel, I subbed. Very interesting stuff.
great ideas, i love the blow pipe and the tripod chair. And I didn't know to cook him in the skin like that. Thank you!
Thanks for the video! That looked amazing. LOL I loved the smoke part.
