Probably glentress, but I'm a glentress trailfairy 😉
I would add, if you’re the person coming up on a slower rider, don’t be a twat and call continuously or shout at them to move. They may be new to mtb and don’t know the etiquette or even nervous of finding a spot to pull in!
A cheery ‘good morning’ is much better than a ‘scuse me come on’ or ‘strava’.
I was going to say this 🤘🏻
@@Cous1nJack If someone shouted "Strava" at me I'd purposely ride slower. :P
Offer encouragement. You might just inspire newer riders to keep going when they feel like giving up. Being overtaken all the time can feel demoralising.
Especially eMTBers often racing up behind non-electric bikers who might be tired and who are trying to get the most out of the trails too.
One good practice I’ve learned and use now is to I indicate on which side I’m going to overpass someone : “ I am passing on the right/left” so the rider knows where to place himself on the track.
that guy that shouts to pass ... not getting help with his flat haha. best way to pass is say hello and ask how their day is going.
Just getting back into mtb after a few years break, decided to build my own bike up... oh yes a hardtail!! Atm I'm loving fhe trails local to me at Haldon Hill, Devon. Roll on summer when I'll have more available time to get back up there again
Hey Matt, Thats great to see your getting back into MTB! Good luck with the hardtail and safe riding! 👊
I miss summer and riding on weekends.
In the night?
Jersey weather is always the best! 👍
@@JDR71326 sub zero temperatures.
@@yesyoucanTellme it's either like -5°to-12° at like 2-4 am it hits different, or like when the air is still warm air on a summers night and it's a deep purple black sunset that's
A nice feeling

That garbage bag top you are rocking bro is giving me hard Devo "whip-it" music video flashbacks man. Don't know why. Just go with it 🤣
I wish more riders would learn proper etiquette. Great advice!!
South Western Greece is my playground. Cheers...
I'm yet to get to a trail centre near me, living in a city centre I've not owned a car for 20 years so need to utilise trains. Not many places that close to train stations. I think the last bike specific centre I rode was in the early days of PORC... Nothing like modern places!
Merthyr Rocks is a Blue at BPW and that will only flow for the committed. The clue is in the name but if you drop in expecting some smooth surfaced flowing roller coaster then you'll be sadly disappointed. It's an absolutely great trail but you need to understand what you're in for. I guess the message is talk and listen to other MTBers. They will tell you more than the grading and they will be friendly.
Windrock TN for the win for me!
Also, if you’re going to stop on the trail due to a mechanical or for a break, please don’t stop on the actual trail! Please move yourself and your bike to the side instead, it’s safer for everyone.
Agreed! 👍
Hopefully gonna hit Trestle Bike Park for the first time later this year! Can't wait! This was great help!
It's great you found the video useful! Thanks for the support! 👍
Here black in one trail could mean hard natural trail and in another a gap going up to a wooden platform.
Personally, I'd be wary of trusting the official trail difficulty too much, since the variation within trails of a given grade is often at least as significant as the gap between grades. Especially around here where it's uncommon for people to actually use a Red rating. Within around 30 minutes of driving, I could find a place where blue includes a 15 foot gap jump, versus blue trails with no jumps or drops.
If you don't have the array of skills need to ride most anything on actual trails already (I definitely don't), then you need to pay more attention to what's actually there and what you actually know how to do than to how other people categorize things. An unexpected type of feature or trail surface that rides differently from you're used can be a big problem.
No trail centers anywhere near me - not within several hundred miles. Any mtb trails are usually just made by hikers and people on quads. Gotta make our own way around here.
5:30 "Yes I hear you. And you're welcome."
Nice colours on the new version of the canyon lux....
Canyon have some great colours out this year on the lux! 😍
Blue trails are NOT the same at different bike parks!
6:43 - how bad was the crash that Rich lost his leg?!?
I wish we had more trail centers in France 🐸
Stunning content, well done Rich👌👌 I love Chicksands💯
Thanks, Deividas! 👊
I think you're down playing the skill requirements for Red trails. Whilst everything at that level should be rollable, an enthusiastic beginner is still gonna have some bad moments if they don't know what they're doing. Blacks require full commitment all the time to non-basic skills
Definitely. I stupidly hit a red on my third run after about 20 hours total riding time and it was all done on a 2005 Marin East Peak. Honestly don't know how I didn't die. 😂
Also found that they vary so much too! I’ve rode red trails that could have been graded blue and then others that could be graded black! I always either research new trails or go with a local or more experienced rider now as nearly died a few times 😅
Make sure your bike is in great condition. The last thing any trail centre wants is a bad accident, the least you can do is make sure you've minimised the risk.
Good shout, Andrew! 👍
Early gang where u at?
is there any good trails or centres in derbyshire ?
I just hate doing gaps just because I’ve seen a guy case it so hard and I’m absolutely terrified of it happening to me
bail, tuck, and roll (in theory)
Carry a karma tube to give to needy souls. What goes around comes around.
So this makes out that it's ok to shout at slower riders to get out the way. Not cool.
We got two of these for our daughters ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxHL1v1R3NE5x4KiYfyt8dnQmyNYz7qi5L the same size for age 6 and 9. It works very well for both girls. Gears were very easy for them to learn. Changing gears up takes some hand strength and is a bit hard, but they are learning. They did not come with water bottle holders- we actually got confused and thought the Derailler Guard was the bottle holder!! Regardless of these details, the bikes are fantastic- even our six year old who only just learned to ride bikes caught on within an hour of practice and loves it. Lightweight and easy for them to handle. All the parts are in excellent condition and the bikes are easy to assemble and very well packaged. Great choice for kids!
i wish i could ride i winter but i'm in Canada
It looks like it's time for the fat bike or Skis? 😅
Ah man your missing out!
There's always skiing
Oh noo, @6:37 he's lost his left leg in a bike accident! ;-)
And ride them at night.
