u take GCSE as your first official exam when you are 15/16 and then A-levels or BTEC 2 years later when you are 17/18 which are used as ur college grades. they are more intense cos for GCSE u have around 20 exams in about 8 subjects and your grades are solely dependent on those exams and same for A-levels but u usually have 3/4 and 3 exams in each and your grade solely depends on that final exam. anyway that's my england education explanation. i am sitting my a levels rn and got accepted to northwestern so incoming freshman, super excited! watching ur vids for that motivation to sit those final exams 🥲

Dear Mikayla , thank you so much for creating these entertaining videos for us, you don't know how much I love watching ur videos and how much of an inspiration you are to me
the uk uses gsces, you sit them when you are sixteen, you can leave school at the age of sixteen and go to college(not like usa college) the college has a lot of different course such as graphic design, mechanics and forensic science. you can apply for a level 2 course which is only for one year (this is for people who might not be able to achieve 4 or 5 gsces and that they haven't passed maths or english which in that year they would resit it) and then you could easliy go onto level 3 course (this course is where you have passed maths and english and have at least 4 or 5 gsces depending on the entry requirements) some people apply for a level 3 for college and after the 2 years you can go to uni (depending on the course)or do an apprenticeship. there is also sixth form where you stay on at the school for 2 years where you choose 3 or 4 subjects and study those for 2 years and at the end of the second year you take the exams which are called A levels and throughout the second year you have to apply to uni or find apprenticeships so you know where you go next. the last option is getting a apprenticeship.

6:33 im from Romania however im going to an international school thats specicilised in french teaching and the french system (we got french holidays, everything is taught in french except languages like latin, romanian, english, spanish or german, we follow the french breaks and classes, etc.) im currently in the 8th grade, soon 9th and in the 9th grade we have smth called 'brevet' basically a really big test on 800 points, divided on 50/50, 400 points for the whole year (good grades basically) and 400 on tests during a certain period of time (french test, math test, english test, stuff like that) so we can pass in the 10th grade and pick a sort of "major" (?? its like psychology, litterature, economics, history, math, science or physiques so its not much of a choice really) and we also have an internship during our 9th grade with a resume, money paid and the whole thing then we have to write an essay about our experience in the work field we chose (it can be a hospital, an art studio, a lawyer's office. i personally chose a greenhouse) and then to graduate 12th grade we have another big exam 'le bac' which is sorta kinda like the brevet but based off the "major" we chose. sorry if it was hard to read or a long paragraph, english is my third language so i did my best explaining my school system !! :))
