Hey man, this video is amazing, but I find it so complicated, I think the software it's here to make our job easier and faster, once a software make us lose a lot of time in a simple configuration and use a 3rd party software to edit a system log, seems very strange to me. I use plant 3d for almost 2 years and I've never understand why it's so complicated in a simple things, in Revit we don't lose time whit a issue like that, the software seems to understand what we want and the final part of the project it's also the faster one. I hope the next generation of Plant 3D uses the Revit platform, in modelling, lists and export/publish issues. Still thanks to you for your amazing videos with huge details and the perfection in what you're doing.
Great video!! Helped a lot. Does it seams normal that, after I tried so many combinations, Plant 3D stops showing line tag, even with the default ComponentFields and LineFieds?
I’m not sure if that is possible out of the box. If I am understanding the question correctly, you would probably need to create a property where you could enter a unique number for each flange connection. After that, you would need to create some type of table to generate that list. What I am not sure of because I’ve never tried it, is can that be accomplished in an isometric and my gut feeling says that it cannot. The iso’s pretty much only create a BOM, Cut List and Weld List. I know I could create a Report that would do that, but that would be a separate document.
At 52:42 you show us the "Not Insul | Insul" Part. is there a possibility to change this into German? Into "Nicht Isoliert | Isoliert" ? Thanks for the great video! I learned alot!
@@Hagerman nooo. Not the Video! :D I asked if it is possible to Translation the "Not Insul | Insul" Part in german? That my ISO shows the Part in german..
HI.. I have a dwt. (iso template) file that we created in auto cad, we want to import this template instead of creating a new one, when we do use it, it comes up but then disappears, and we are left with the green block draw area only, it is like our border is still there but it is not showing??
Not a good idea to use an old acad.dwt - you’re missing a lot of info that is necessary. Start with an OOB Plant 3D Iso Template and then modify it to create your custom P3D Iso Template replacing the title block with yours.
@@Hagerman thanks allot! Keep posting plant 3D vids! Helps me allot! If you do training courses online that I can buy etc please let me know!! Awesome!
here is one that im sure you cant handle LOL'' my Isometrics display coordinates, that is taken from , my 0,0 UCS - I then move my UCS to a new location to have all the coordinates reference to the new location, but when i run the Iso's, it still gives the coordinates that come from the UCS as if it is still on 0,0
Plant 3D will not like it if you try to move the model off of 0,0,0 - it will give you numorous errors and messages until you fix it. But for what you are wanting to do, if you have 2022 or 2023 in the Project Setup under Isometric DWG settings > Iso Style Default Settings - try setting the coordinate system offset from 0,0,0 in the Offset Location section and you should be able to accomplish what you are trying to do. This feature is not available in earlier versions though.
You would need to use Quick Isometrics from the actual Model. That will allow you to select only the items you want to include in the isometric. However, it will not create the iso in the project manager, but in the location you have setup for quick isos.

Do you have by chance any material like this on the content of the video to share? BTW tks for the great video .

great tips........any ideas on how to add a numbered list of flanged joints onto the isometric

Quick Question: How do you instead of spooling the entire line number, just spool say a window you create(one line on that line number?)

Hi,
Thanks for the video
Can we assign iso file name to the elements?
Isometrics are created from the model and it is a one way street. There is no method for getting iso information back in to the model.
Can i request a cad file ?
