Im late to the show..Really great job guys..Those quartz chunks at the end were Awesome!..Beautiful views and the graphiti was interesting..Thanks for your sharing this with us..

Once you're up that high, heat becomes less of an issue! If you look carefully, you can actually see very small pockets of snow along their hiking trail. But I'd still advise using sunscreen cuz that UV index is still just as strong as being down there in the desert.
Hey man! All is good! Editing videos haven't been a priority for me lately, but I'm still exploring mines. How have you been yourself? Are you still working at the Monte Cristo?
@@forgottenmininghistory I tried to drive to Panamint City in the late 70’s or the early 80’s, but my 1977 VW Rabbit 🐇 did not have enough ground clearance going through the narrow part of the canyon. When was the road washed away? It was beautiful with lots of water flowing down the stream.
@27:14 you used Xavier for scale, but we don't know how tall he is; I have not met him yet. It's really incredible that the stationary cable still runs up to the Ida Mine!
I forget how I found your channel, but I am glad I did. I love seeing all this history. If you are ever out in California and want some company, I would love to do some hiking!
I am unaware of how often you post new content. But since we are talking mine exploration, I am forced to check in with you. 3 weeks is a very long time to go without word from someone who you know enters dangerous locations such as abandoned mines. Just checking on your well being. Hope everything is good and safe.
Everything is all right! I've just been lacking the motivation to edit videos lately. I am still exploring a lot of mines though. Thank you for your concern!

I was all over that area in the 90s Panama City is one of my best places a buddy and I cross country from the charcoal Kilns telescope Peak I can't remember the canyon that we came down if the one with the cemetery in it if you can find it I played all over in Death Valley backpack by myself most of the time
Yes sourdough Canyon that's where I came down from The High Ridge from the top halfway down was cross country then there was a road rest of the way down there's a spring just before you get down to the main road on the right hard to find a lot of old cabins when you get to Panama City with stuff still in them
"View, 10:14 to 10:35 images appear like ancient cave art of meso America. The writing below and design could be ancient. Many of these mines break open into ancient caves. I've seen it on other mining videos."
Floating carriage on the tram system. Kind of like on logging yarders. The minerals, and vain they went deeper, thinking it leach out of the vain near the surface? Thanks for the vid!!!
At 9:04 I found 1940 Census information for Roy Stark in Galena KS. He was born in 1916. Can't put links in comments anymore, without UA-cam removing the comment.
Thanks for the videos! I want to explore the mines at Panamint, could you help me find maps to the mines that you mentioned? Anything helps, thank you!
They can't all be breath-taking which might be a good thing since if they are too nice vandals feel compelled to shoot artifacts and trash the adits. Keep looking, I'll keep watching.
Hey bro im going to golar wash soon in the next few weeks. Gonna check out the keystone and lotus mine. Plus the Barker ranch. I heard mengal pass is closed due to the hurricane. I got an f150 with a 7inch lift kit. Should be good enough to go up golar no matter what. So if anyone wants to meet up or wanna ride in with me, let me know.
@@mitchellbarnow1709 Hey man!! They were ALL the way as far as you could drive. That was the very end of Panamint City behind a gated chain link-ish type of gate... we removed from the hinge side

@@Henleyrocks You caught me, Devin, it was watermelon, not popcorn!

I was about to post something about that haha
Yep! Two little eyes lol
stay cool guys. Don't over heat. I got heat stroke once while backpacking alone. not so easy to even walk back
Thankfully is was nice and cool up by the mines, which sit above 7000 feet. Down at the mouth of the canyon where we started hiking was another story.

It's amazing how many different mines are in the Panamint City area. It's remoteness must be keeping it from getting vandalized and pillaged.
Yep, these mines aren't easy to get to. There are several we didn't hit on this trip that we want to go back for.

Although that would be cool, I'm 100% certain that it's just miner's carbide art.

The hills have eyes🤣🤣
From the top down you haven't added about every hundred feet or so Panama City had a heck of a history if you can find a book
Yeah, it really has some great history.
I live near the bonanza Co mine and would love to chat with you about how to get in. Plz respond and help me fill my need to explore.
How did they dig in those tight spaces?
