Nicki can't go after Cardi without an album. Not a tentative album but an album. The album is the white horse they ride out on after the beef is ignited. It makes it harder for the other to retaliate successfully. If Cardi disses Nicki and then drops an album full of hits, she will ride out on radio play, streams, award shows, interviews and music videos...etc. It also works vice versa. If the album is trash, it allows the other person's diss track (without an album attached) to ride out instead. Nicki Vs Kim in 2010. Nicki's album cemented her win against Kim because it was a hit and Nicki rode out on everything that came with it. Kim had no album and her diss track wasn't enough to go against a whole album. If Nicki's album was trash, Kim's diss track would've had more clout and Nicki would've been starting from scratch.
