It is a scary one! It's so much better to be cautious than reckless on the hoop :) If you can, have people spot your for the first few times. Lower your leg as low as you can so you don't have as far to drop and you can aim better. Try an easier alternative, from a chest stand with your ankle wrapped on the strop - slide your hands and ankle down until you land in a front balance. This will give you a good idea of what the hocks drop to front balance feels like without being too scary. Hope that helps!
