    I just rebuilt my torque converter for my Ford backhoe, mine looks very similar to yours. I priced parts from the New Holland dealer and ended up contacting and purchasing parts from the manufacturer in England, it was a third of the cost from the New Holland dealer here in the states.
    You’re doing a great job, looking forward to seeing that dozer move under its own power.

    Definitely, take your time and collect your thoughts, you’re definitely a braver man than me! And smarter because I wouldn’t know what to do or if I could put everything back together! It’s good that you can work on this stuff and not have any interference so you can reassemble everything afterwards! Looks really complicated to me! But you’re the genius when it comes to rebuilding these converters! But in the end you’ll have a better machine and it should last a long time!

    you almost always compress fluid. hydraulic fluid is designed with how much compression v viscosity in mind. hydro lock is the result of fluid compressing and bouncing back.
    i enjoy your footage. good to try stuff you haven't done. brave on camera.

    • @Elyjah1
      @Elyjah1 Місяць тому

      You can only pressurize liquids but not compress them; Hydraulic fluid is also a liquid. Hydro lock is the result of a liquid not being able to compress, once that happens you can only go in the opposite direction so that the volume in which the liquid is being held in increases. You can never take 1 liter of hydraulic oil and turn it into 1/2 a liter or even 0.9 liters it has to go somewhere. The pressure is how hard the liquid is being pushed, and there is a relief valve so that once it reaches a certain pressure it goes back into the hydraulic tank. Thats not saying you cannot compress a fluid as air is also a fluid and we can take 1 liter of air and turn it into half a liter or even lower.

    I may have just missed it, but I don’t recall you mentioning centrifugal force when describing how the torque converter works. If I’m not mistaken, centrifugal force, pushes the fluid from one set of fins to the other.

    Cool vids man!!! Torque converter rebuild seems pretty simple. When you were putting it back together and trekking us about your father in law that used to build torque converters and the needle being kept falling out when you flipped it over. I don't think you put that bearing back in before you put the cover back on with all the bolts around it. Hopefully you did, just an observation keep up the good work. Also I get what you mean about parts becoming obsolete, I own 5 Allis Chalmers dozers. I'm always looking for parts machines

      @@dieseJL I had to learn the hard way, so profit from my mistakes.... DATE NIGHT. Make sure she has fun and its not about bills or kids.... find out what is the most important things in her life by paying attention. A hug in the morning goes a long way. Plumb fool her with breakfast in bed or flowers for a day thats kind of cold and cloudy.... Your only young once sadly so just enjoy what you have and strive to be the best you can be. I found out that while men forgive, women never forget. Everyone makes mistakes as we are human. So be yourself, never just let them win because they are a girl. She will respect you for standing up for yourself.... but no black eyes/LOL. My father was a very very mean man and it was his way or the highway. I have seen how kind you are with the kids so be yourself and you kids should enjoy a life of smiles and good times. There are no promises of great everyday life and so we have compassion for others. I so enjoy your channel because of no fighting and cussing... just honest talking and spending time with each other when their back hurts or someones coffee is cold when you open the thermos. More than once I drove off without remembering to grab my lunchbag.... I best stop and say thank you for the many great videos. I will be seventy five on the 29th and that is a good day

    Here in Canada you can go to any good baring supply shop and match up just about every baring, seal Owings, ext. For anything from cars trucks all size trailer to any heavy eqipment. In my 63 I think if I recall I only had to go to a dealer for the odd seal an baring. Same with any drive belt. Right down to excavator swing baring and seals. If you go to a dealer for any of this. Ya best to be ready to have your butt reamed up an bank account drop big time..

      1:36:47 Can you grind a little off that pump and fit a socket head bolt(cap screw) instead of the hex bolt in there? Looks pretty close but it'll make it with a lil modification. They're coming together nicely!
