I found your observation that your grandparents are from "that generation that depends on other people's opinions" to be quite funny. My elderly parents, too --- even though we're from thousands of miles from you and your Ukrainian grandparents, with very different cultural tradition --- they also take other people's opinions about them very seriously, too! So different and yet so similar, all of us... or, at least, all of our elderly parents and grandparents born and grew up from the early to the mid 1900s. We younger folks... we don't really care what others say about us; but, yes, the older folks, they take what others say much more seriously... especially if those sayings are criticisms or perceived as being negative....
I prefer seeing a house like this. It's real and not staged to look better than it is. This is a HOME full of life. All the food in jars set aside for winter is incredible. I bet there is some really good food in there. In everyone's family, noone cooks as good as your grandmother. I miss my grandmother's cooking and the way the house always smelled. Thanks for sharing.
When I went to Romania with my friends and saw how their relatives lived in the village, I fell in love with it. Down to earth, nothing fancy, just good people living as best they can. The Village Square, the churches, the architecture, and the history is wonderful. And everybody is friendly.
Your Grandparent’s home is beautiful. I just love it. It’s so very welcoming, cozy, and homey. So very lovely. Thank you for sharing their home and very special things with us. Love and Blessings from the USA 🇺🇦🙏❤️🇺🇸
This reminds me so much of the house my grandparents lived in. They even had the same flycatcher in the kitchen. When you entered that cellar, I remembered the smell of my grandparents' cellar again, for the first time in many years.
Beautiful home and surroundings! Thank your grandmother for her kindness in allowing us to see it. The wood stove, garden and home grown food preservation is amazing and will be very useful in the coming years. As our world leaders pursue a path of global economic collapse and food shortages to gain further control over people this is what we need. Self sufficiency is so valuable. Your grandparents home and lifestyle reminds me a lot my grandparents in the USA.
Hi miss Taya,I find your vlog from your country so interesting with a lot of history behind it.Continue a vlog like this so we can learn about your place.Luv from USA 🇺🇸.
I'm from northeast India I love watching your videos it gives me a sense of happiness.. I think Ukraine is a fertile land and full of beautiful mountains and people are so cute and people are so generous and more.. God bless your grandparents
Here in the USA we say a house like the grandparents is "lived in", not cluttered or messy ! It's a lifetime of collected possessions ! I love tomatoes 🍅 and can eat at least two large ones every day ! 😋 I saw lots of delicious foods in the jars of preserved foods ! Thanks for the historical tour of your families homes !
I would love very much if you could interview your grandparents to share their life in the village, especially the life in the past. I love the village videos more than anything else.
This is incredible!! Your grandparents are living the life to the fullest. While In our modern times we only know the way to the supermarket and home. Your grandparents are making everything by themselves!! I respect them!
There is no reason for anyone to write a negative comment about your grandparents house. There are a lot of homemade products in the form of food, I like it. Taya, do you know how to do all that?
Their lifestyle is extremely interesting. They grow their own plants, store their own food, and cut their own wood. This is different to what I know as a guy from a big city in Western Europe. Thank you for sharing.
I LOVE your grandmother’s house! I love the beautiful wallpaper and memories throughout. My favorite room may be the food storage room - absolutely fantastic!!
Awesome to see how very well prepared they are with wood for heat and many many days of food if needed! Smart! Most people here in USA don't have enough food in their home to last the week!
I miss the smell of my grandparents house it had that older home smell that i truly miss and my grandmother's country home cooking, fresh bread , jams, pies and just watching your video brought back memories, thank you for letting us see village life once again. Larry
You are so pretty and also very brave! If I did not want negative comments from UA-cam viewers, I would not give them access to it, whilst I did really enjoy your tour around your grandparents' home :) I would like to see where you live and your home is too!
Your Granny house is so sweet. I love it. She has so much good canned food and the amazing homemade pastries. Love it. !!!! Save the photos from the original house. This is your family history.
Each generation finds ways to modernize to make their life better. Complete respect for those who came before us. Thank you to your family for sharing with us.
Very beautiful real countryside living! Reminds me of my grandparents house in Finland, nothing was ever thrown out but stored, didn't matter if it was one left shoe or bikewheel and it was very common to have underground storage as refigator. Also i remember how in everyday use butter cheese milk cream was placed in a watertight container and placed in a well to keep cool..
2:36 I love the family history on the shelves. The photos, the cups, the embroidery. How many times your family used these, had dinner and drinks together, talking, laughing and enjoying being together. It's your history. They are proud of their family. It's wonderful to see it. 4:41 the garage is super. So many jars, so much tasty food! No need to go to the shop, she has the best flavour food already at home. You are lucky to have such a good granny! 6:21 omg wow, fabulous looking food, looks so good! Taya, that was a wonderful video. Reminds me of country homes in Britain and Ireland, old style, people harvesting their own potatoes, tomatoes, onions, cabbages, etc. They don't pickle much here but there was lots of jams. Many people had chickens, every chicken gives you fresh eggs 5 days a week! 🙂 If you've got 3 chickens for every person then that's 2-3 eggs a day, good breakfast or lunch. There's a very good family warm feeling with this video.
Taya always enjoy the vids in the Village. Tell Grandmother don't worry she has a wonderful house. Especially love seeing how she preserves the food. It reminds me of going to visit my Granny and she did the same.
Absolutely wonderful village cottage! There is nothing to be ashamed of, your Grandmother @Grandfather are survivors of hard and difficult living. I'd be proud to meet and stay there.
Another great video, Taya. I really enjoyed it. Tell your Grandma not to worry about the house, I think it is great. Very Rustic feel to it. I love it. Tell your family that I say Hello. Save me a piece of the pastry, I will be there shortly. LOL You look Beautiful as always, Taya. Great job.🥰
It reminds me of my grandmother’s house and where I used to live when I was a child. You brought back great memories for me. Thank you and God Bless your Grandparents and Parents.
Wonderful video! Those pastries looked very tasty. I would enjoy having them with coffee and visiting with your grandparents about the old times. Thanks for sharing.
Thank You❤️ I donated a bit to UA armed forces (this baba is on pension, wish I could do more-but I got some others to do a bit) and discuss with family and friends. We won't forget, and stay safe. 💪🇺🇦🌻
My first house I owned was a 100 years old, your tour of your grand parents home reminded me of how muck work it was for up keep. Good job, thank you for sharing the walk through of your family's Ukrainian village house. Stay safe and be proud!
Such a quaint house. There are some similarities with our own grandparents (alas mine have already passed away) so you're still lucky to have them. Love the jams and compotes! Looks yummy! Thanks for sharing a part of your life. Take care and stay safe!
Thank you for a small look into the life you live. It bring back memories of my grandparents place. I remember have to use a outhouse up tell 1971 when my father put indoor plumbing in their house. But there are people out there that just dont understand country life. Be thankful for what they teach you, Be safe and wish them well from Texas USA
Thanks for sharing this video. And a happy birthday to your grandma 🎉 I love the house and all the jars, fruit, wine and beautiful handmade carpets. In Holland we had also these kind of fly catching sticky cords. Keep up the good work by sharing these kind of lovely video's 🙏
Hello from Australia 🇦🇺 your grandmothers is beautiful it looks just like my grandmothers house here in Aus, she is 92 years old, my nan has very similar habits also, her food and garden looks amazing! I've watched several of your videos obviously lol, keep the good videos coming x
Lovely to see people living a self sufficient lifestyle. With some modern assistance of course. I am reminded of my childhood here in Australia. My grandmother milking her house cow, skimming cream, making butter pats. She had very little in comparison to what a lot of us have now. Perfect homes require much time , money and labour. Probably better to spend that time in more productive ways.
Thanks for sharing, Taya! I had not heard of the recycling of water that you mentioned early in the video. I like the curtains in the windows to block out any light so nobody will know that someone is currently living there. The curtain at the door, to prevent flies from entering the home, is a good idea. Your family has so many jams, jellies, sauces and compot. They seem very well stocked! The Apricot pie sure looked delicious! And good to see Yuki as well!
Fascinating! Thanks for sharing. Some of it reminds me a lot of my family's homes and lifestyles in rural Mexico (though of course some differences -- they had a courtyard, wood-fired stoves and showers, no toilets, etc.). I absolutely love pickled tomatoes, I can eat a whole jar every day, so if you're like me you'll find good use for your big harvest. :)
Ukrainian embroidery is so beautiful, but your family's are exquisite. The one under the TV was my favorite. Thank you for sharing your family treasures and beautiful garden. God Bless your family...
I had no idea about Ukraine but now I'm very interested to know more about your country and your culture since I started watching your videos, it's very nice and interesting one, Keep it up. Praying for peace in your country. Greetings from Philippines
Love it! There is something very special about all of this. Gorgeous place with gorgeous traditions which I am happy you appreciate and are preserving! ❤🌻
Very interesting Taya. Your Grand Parents are very skilled to be able to grow and store so much food and to be so self sufficient. It looks like the Ukrainian Army is driving the Russians out. Hopefully this war will end soon. God bless you, your family, and Ukraine.
Thank you so much Taya, You sharing a tour of the home of your Grandparents and family means a lot to me and says a lot about the beautiful soul you are being proud of your family. Even though my home country of Australia is far in distance from Ukraine this all brought back great memories of my Grandparents homes here, with so many similarities
Hello my dear Taya. Johnny from originally USA. What a beautiful home from your grandparents. So amazing how your connection with them and your love of their life. You prove over and over how extraordinary you are and your love of the Ukrainian people. You are an true angel. You've been amazing in the year plus that since I've met you. Thank you so much and send love to your grandparents. Cheers...
Taya, Thank you for sharing, You and your family show to the world something very important, not to ever forget all the greatest values you have and learn in life, I know in my city you and your family could a very important restuarant and more with all you and your family do, very talented and often lost in many countries of the world, and also so kind to share with all of us, I know many people here would like and welcome you and your family here in my city. thank you again for all you do and your videos, I really enjoy all of your videos, From USA
Taya, your grandparent, s house is so beautiful. I see your videos, these are very wonderful with simple english. I know about your country and it's wonderful people by your videos. Very very thanks.
The low ceiling helps with heating, I love these video they remind me of the living history museum here. People who have less but have so much more at the same time, Excellent thank you.
I love how your family is still self sufficient and how your grandma's awareness when it comes to the use of water. She's right, she's smart. I never understood all that clean drinking water wasted to flush the toilet in our modern world. It'll come back to haunt us sooner or later. Btw. That pastry looks delicious! ❤️
Thank you for sharing with us your life in the village and family home, Taya :) Particularly interesting for me as a Singaporean, since my country is a city-state that is very small, all of us live in a very densely populated city area; I never had the opportunity to experience village life and we definitely don't have luxury of space in my country to have cellars or garage where we can keep homemade jam, pickles and compote. So this was a very interesting video
