#Golcondafort located in #hyderabad was built by #kakatiyas. It was later fortified by Kutub Shahi rulers. Kakatiya dynasty built the Golconda fort to defend the western part of their kingdom. The fort was built on top of a #granite hill. #Rani Rudrama Devi and her successor #Prataparudra strengthened the fort further. After this, #Musunuri dynasty took over the fort by defeating #Tughlaqi army.
The Golconda is known initially as Mankal and built in 1143 by Kakatiyas (South Indian Dynasty). It is rumoured that when the Kakatiyas were building the fort, a shepherd boy found an idol of a god on the site. That is why it is called Golla Konda or the Shepherd's hill.
Golconda is renowned for the diamonds found on the south-east at Kollur Mine near Kollur, Guntur district, Paritala and Atkur in Krishna district and cut in the city during the Kakatiya reign. At that time, India had the only known diamond mines in the world.
The city of Hyderabad was founded by the Qutb Shahi sultan Muhammad Quli Qutb Shah in 1591 CE. It was built around the #Charminar, which formed the centerpiece of the city. Hyderabad became an important trading centre for diamonds and pearls
1967, a traitor betrayed the Qutub Shahi Dynasty and Aurangzeb's army managed to breach the defenses of the fort. Aurangzeb looted and destroyed the fort and left it in a heap of ruins. The Golconda Fort is an exquisite blend of #Hindu and #Islamic styles.

#ഹൈദരാബാദിൽ സ്ഥിതി ചെയ്യുന്ന Golcondafort #കകതീയന്മാരാണ് നിർമ്മിച്ചത്. പിന്നീട് കുതുബ് ഷാഹി ഭരണാധികാരികൾ ഇത് ശക്തിപ്പെടുത്തി. തങ്ങളുടെ രാജ്യത്തിന്റെ പടിഞ്ഞാറൻ ഭാഗത്തെ പ്രതിരോധിക്കാൻ കാകതീയ രാജവംശം ഗോൽക്കൊണ്ട കോട്ട നിർമ്മിച്ചു. ഒരു #ഗ്രാനൈറ്റ് കുന്നിൻ മുകളിലാണ് കോട്ട നിർമ്മിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നത്. #റാണി രുദ്രമാ ദേവിയും അവളുടെ പിൻഗാമി #പ്രതാപരുദ്രയും കോട്ടയെ കൂടുതൽ ശക്തിപ്പെടുത്തി. ഇതിനുശേഷം # തുഗ്ലക്കി സൈന്യത്തെ പരാജയപ്പെടുത്തി # മുസുനൂരി രാജവംശം കോട്ട കീഴടക്കി. ഗോൽക്കൊണ്ട ആദ്യം മങ്കൽ എന്നാണ് അറിയപ്പെട്ടിരുന്നത്, 1143-ൽ കാകതിയാസ് (ദക്ഷിണേന്ത്യൻ രാജവംശം) നിർമ്മിച്ചതാണ്. കാകതീയർ കോട്ട പണിയുമ്പോൾ ഒരു ആട്ടിടയൻ ആ സ്ഥലത്ത് ഒരു ദൈവത്തിന്റെ വിഗ്രഹം കണ്ടെത്തിയതായി കിംവദന്തിയുണ്ട്. അതുകൊണ്ടാണ് ഇതിനെ ഗോല്ല കൊണ്ട അഥവാ ഇടയൻ കുന്ന് എന്ന് വിളിക്കുന്നത്. കൊല്ലൂരിനടുത്തുള്ള കൊല്ലൂർ ഖനി, ഗുണ്ടൂർ ജില്ല, പരിതല, കൃഷ്ണ ജില്ലയിലെ അറ്റ്കൂർ എന്നിവിടങ്ങളിൽ തെക്ക് കിഴക്ക് ഭാഗത്ത് കണ്ടെത്തിയ വജ്രങ്ങൾക്ക് ഗോൽക്കൊണ്ട പ്രശസ്തമാണ്. അക്കാലത്ത് ലോകത്ത് അറിയപ്പെട്ടിരുന്ന ഒരേയൊരു വജ്ര ഖനി ഇന്ത്യയ്ക്കുണ്ടായിരുന്നു. 1591-ൽ കുത്തബ് ഷാഹി സുൽത്താൻ മുഹമ്മദ് ഖുലി കുത്തബ് ഷായാണ് ഹൈദരാബാദ് നഗരം സ്ഥാപിച്ചത്. നഗരത്തിന്റെ കേന്ദ്രബിന്ദുവായി മാറിയ ചാർമിനാറിനു ചുറ്റുമാണ് ഇത് നിർമ്മിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നത്. വജ്രങ്ങളുടെയും മുത്തുകളുടെയും പ്രധാന വ്യാപാര കേന്ദ്രമായും സംസ്‌കാരത്തിന്റെ കേന്ദ്രമായും ഹൈദരാബാദ് മാറി. 1687, ഒരു രാജ്യദ്രോഹി കുത്തബ് ഷാഹി രാജവംശത്തെ ഒറ്റിക്കൊടുക്കുകയും ഔറംഗസേബിന്റെ സൈന്യം കോട്ടയുടെ പ്രതിരോധം തകർക്കുകയും ചെയ്തു. ഔറംഗസീബ് കോട്ട കൊള്ളയടിച്ച് നശിപ്പിക്കുകയും അവശിഷ്ടങ്ങളുടെ കൂമ്പാരത്തിൽ ഉപേക്ഷിക്കുകയും ചെയ്തു. ഹിന്ദു-ഇസ്ലാമിക ശൈലികളുടെ സമന്വയമാണ് ഗോൽക്കൊണ്ട കോട്ട.
