Brunswick does make a natural smoked kipper labeled as Golden Smoked Herring Fillets which is much better than their regular kippers and they are the same price. For me, it's a toss up between the regular Polar or King Oscar.
When the curled lid breaks loose you always get a splash of juice. Not that it's a bad thing. I grew up eating a lot of kipper snacks and sardines as we are Norwegian. Grandpa and Grandma immigrated from Norway so it was natural to have tinned fish. Grandpa's side of the family had a large sardine cannery in Bergan, Norway. You are spot on with the top two choices. I have always liked the King Oscar but now choose the regular Polar due to it being quite a bit lower in sodium. I was banned from bringing kipper snacks to the break room at work due to the aroma. lol
i learned the ways of a kipper snack on toast from my Norwegian great grandmother. I really like to make a quick sauce with dijon, lemon, salt, and pepper, and broil the kippers for a few minutes with the sauce on top. mmmmm
Love the comment. I am also the Grandson of Immigrants from Germany. As you can see I film in the garage of in my boat because people just don't understand how I can love sardine products so much. Thanks for watching.
A vastly underrated high protein snack. Much like most sardines and other canned fish, these are always on sale. Such a fun channel. Keep up the great work! 🏴☠️
Interesting, I'm going to be grabbing some Polar and King Oscar to try out, I've always been getting the Brunswick ones not realizing they were such lower quality.
I do have a few tins of Sunny Sea Sardines in Water that I was feeding to a sick cat and that is all they are good for. I just don't want to slander a brand on the internet. Overall your right I haven't ran across too many I don't like!
Easily the best, and more informative, channel on youtube
Kippers make a nice low fat change from bacon or ham for breakfast. Scrambled eggs, kippers, whole wheat toast with marmalade , hot tea , I'm in.
honest and true reviews great job as always, my fav is the bar harbor they have a good selection of canned or tinned fish.
thanks again.

I will look for the golden smoked, thanks.
The Brunswick in hot sauce or the lemon and cracked pepper are my favs.
Great review! It's tough to beat the Polar herring for quality and value. I eat these all the time and love them. Thanks for the excellent review. 🐟
I am finding that the Polar products are always great quality and value. Thanks for watching.
King Oscar is the best in my book
King Oscar was originally a Norwegian Brand .
I cant eat that stuff without dousing it in hot sauce and baking it or putting it on a pizza, or using some of the oil to flavor some ramen
Regular Polar is my go to. Most of the time, I can find it on the cheap with quality! lol🐟
Yep. Good stuff!

Thank you for doing a comparison are the kipper snacks smaller or did the old Brunswick packages appear to be the same size?
The Brunswick and Beach Cliff were smaller tins.
Best canned fish reviews on UA-cam. 5stars+🔥
Thanks for the kind words!

Brunswick Golden Smoked are also really nice, and at a good price. Similar to a kippers but they are actually smoked instead of the smoke flavoring.
I will look for them, thanks.

You should try the Crown Prince Kipper snacks. They're excellent. Always good.
Thanks will do.
As always you did a great review. Now I need to go and stock up as my tins are running low.
Cheers.

Does everyone else's wife hate kippers too?

The Brunswick are almost $4.00 a can where I am - IN CANADA!!🤬
Crazy, how can they be cheaper with transportation costs to the south?
@@TimeToEatTheBait It's the taxes.
