Inside Crewe Diesel in 1993

Two seperate videos spliced together at Crewe DMD in 1993 and around 1995 sees various loco classes undergoing regular maintenance in the fantastic facilities, including classes 31, 37 and 47, with many of the loco's featured still running today, although probably better maintained and looked after now. Locomotive services LTD now look after this site and have rebuilt the shed to its former heyday after being used as a storage location. Which is everyone's favourite loco out of these?

Thanks for sharing this changing scene with us. I was a R E S driver at Crewe so it was nice to see all the red locos lined up, I had many a good trip on the Crewe-Cardiff postil's with the 47's, did many royal trains also with them it was sorry to see them replaced with the 67's. I am now working with L S L on the steam but the deisel depot is a lot cleaner now than when in the previous ownership.

47's and 37's are always in my heart. I think due to growing up opposite a railway line, I specifically remember seeing a lot of Class 47's as a toddler.

Fantastic footage. However I would hazard a guess of this being circa 1995, especially with the RES 47/7s pre RCH jumpers also BRT class 20s and Waterman 47710 etc.
