It works! I have had mine almost fifteen years and I am a professional ASE certified mechanic. Once it is on a fastener you don't have to hold the head to remove or tighten. Good tool!

I love this tool, I REALLY HOPE they make a pass through version. I also hope that more tool companies adopt the pass through socket/ratchet design, because there needs to be cordless powered versions as well. Crafstman C3 Max Axess is the only one I know of, which surprises me.. Thank you for the video, now I'm off to Amazon to spend some more money on tools!

I wonder whats the max torque you can push it to. I am afraid to buy it and push it so much that it breaks.

I’ve needed one of these many times and should have bought the Bostitch branded one that I saw on a Walmart shelf years ago. They were all gone never to be seen again a week later, when I decided that I needed one. I’ve watched the BluePoint version on eBay many times, but never could justify the premium price. One problem that I have with this design is that no one builds them long enough... Usually in this situation I need a long reach too. The Proxxon does offer the option to extend at least.

They actually have a use, which is turning a bolt in a tight area where you don't have much room to crank a normal ratchet, or where you are going to get bloody knuckles using a regular ratchet.

I have had both of these for several years (mine look a little bit better built than these) and yes, they defiantly have applications that will save time or make a job possible. Besides, they're fun to use! Thanks for the video.

Can you drive the Proxxon with a drill/impact driver? I mean, you can obviously seat one in the back, but would that apply too much torque to the ratchet? Does the ratchet feel like it can handle a power driver (especially the impact driver, as it is more brutish, if you will)?

    • @bzeug
      @bzeug  5 років тому +6

I was also thinking about that. I have the Milwaukee 3/8 drive M12 ratchet and a 3/8 to 1/4 drive adapter and was tempted to try it, but I just don't know if the Proxxon can handle being driven like that. The Proxxon feels heavy enough, but I just don't know. If they make the mechanism inside the handle in the same way a power ratchet is made then it might be ok, but my Milwaukee power ratchet has more bulk so it seems like these rotary ratchets are not up to same specs as powered versions. I'm too chicken to try impact on it maybe the power ratchet but want to use it more first.

All 3 Amazon links you listed for the Proxxon are for 2 other sizes than you reviewed in this video. The DE link is for the ¼'' version (23082), while the UK and US links are for the ½'' version (23084). But the one in this video is the ⅜'' version (23083).
It comes in these 3 different sizes, so make sure you order the correct one:
    23082: ¼''
    23083: ⅜''
    23084: ½''

I updated the links. Here is a link to the exact item I purchased from Amazon.DE. I followed the link in my order history to the item, so this should be the one in the video, unless they are shipping a different item now. amzn.to/3DPPxhu

@@bzeug Yes this link says model 23083 which is ⅜'' and the packaging in your video also says 23083.
But you can link to all three sizes if you want to. Many people use all three sizes.

Their box end-open spanners are beefy and do hold up.
      Good value.

Proxxon fwiw, has some stuff made in Europe, Japan, and China. They have a lot of great milling tools and power tools. Good quality stuff.
