  • Update from Dellanie (Maya’s Mum) 18.12.2023 MondayChemotherapy cycle 7 commenced on Monday 18th December. Maya is still at reduced dosage (20% reduction of dosage treatment: Bevacizumab- Irinotecan-Temozolomide).19.12.2023 Tuesday Day 2/cycle 7. Here are photos of Maya having her reflexology at The Royal Marsden Hospital which helps alleviate the nausea and vomiting that are the usual side effects of chemo. Maya was dropped at her best friend Charlie’s house (around 4pm) straight after the hospital appointment. The videos show how much energy Maya still has, despite the Temozolomide oral chemo and Irinotecan chemotherapy IV infusion. And I happened to tickle their piano, and after playing a few Christmas tunes, for some reason, the world then feels like a happier place! The laughter and giggles from Maya and Charlie filled my heart with so much gratitude. Moments like these are so precious!I have not been able to update so much on these blogs because the need to focus on “normality” in life is so strong. The scan was cancelled last week which just added layers upon layers of anxiety. Juggling with full-time work helps me focus on something else instead of living constantly in fear. There is nothing predictable with childhood cancer. We are doing our very best to ensure that Maya has the best Christmas ever, even though we sometimes think the unimaginable scenario. We are always grateful for your kindness and unwavering love. Thank you so much. Please don’t tire of supporting us. We need any kind of support now more than ever. gofund.me/7b0a381fIn the meantime, these videos sent me to fits of giggles. Happy days! ❤️ Thank you Kate for capturing such #preciousmoments 🙏#neuroblastoma #childhoodcancer#chemotherapy
