Ann Wilson is without a doubt the greatest female hard rock singer we've ever had, and it's really cool to see her still killing it. And David is in a league of his own as a singer. There is something really awesome about seeing two world class singers from different generations coming together and creating something this cool.

Ann Wilson, 72 years old at the time of this recording, still not needing autotune and sounding better than any female out there today.
I like how Ann took on some of David's vocal traits, and the guitar solo had the feel of Heart. Ann's voice is immortal.

Disturbed's Divisive album was four years in the making, during which two of the band members' marriages broke down. Drummer Mike Wengren got divorced early in the pandemic and guitarist Dan Donegan went through a split in early 2022.
This song is about a disintegrating relationship where each party struggles with letting go. It was inspired by the ending of Donegan's marriage.
"That was a really personal one for me," Dan Donegan told Billboard. "During COVID-19, I was going through a divorce after 18 years of marriage. Part of that divorce process is that there was still a great deal of love we have for each other, and we couldn't imagine our lives without each other. Just that letting go, letting somebody go that you still love, but maybe the marriage just might not be working anymore... It was touching on that. It was just very personal."
Donegan came up with the concept, then wrote the lyrics with Disturbed singer David Draiman. "I threw a few lines at him, and he took the ball and ran with it." Donegan said.
Then Feb 2023 David got divorced

Disturbed has been my favorite rock/metal band since around 2003. I finally got to see them live in 2019 and they were amazing, they put on one hell of a show. Listening to the sound of silence in person by them was absolutely Incredible.
The lyrics are brutal. If you have ever been through a breakup, this hurts...deep.
The day Disturbed stops making music will be the saddest day of my life. I have been a fan of them since day one (1994) when I was in high school. My favourite song by them is "Indestructible".

This song doesn’t just pull on the heartstrings, their voices carry it to the very depths of your soul, and literally tug on the spirit.

Ann will be 74 June 19th. I have seen her perform 51 times since the original band Heart. She is untouchable as a singer. She is in a league of her own
David is absolutely amazing. This is a gem. I cant keep dry eyes listening to it. Intense!

I am no longer into heavy metal at 67 years old however I did get emotional over Disturbed's cover of Sounds of Silence and your not the only one who gets emotional over this song.
Just saw Disturbed perform this song live last night! Moriah Formica from Plush sang the female vocals. She sounds a lot like Ann Wilson. What a powerful song?! Dave’s voice is always filled with strong emotions.

Dan, the lead guitarist, when through a divorce a few years back and David Draiman, lead singer, got a divorce last year. This song they wrote reflects the pain that both experienced. Ann was on board when she and David were mutually appreciative of each other’s talent She indicated she’d be willing to sing on a Disturbed track. David and Dan sent her this, knowing it needed a female vocal to help tell the story. Ann was immediately on board! Seen her live twice in her Ann Wilson of Heart solo show! Best female rock vocalist ever! Disturbed is on my bucket list to see.

I grew up listening to Heart. Ann collab with disturbed is amazing. I dont think there is anyone outside with david being classically trained that he can not successfully collab with

As a gen xer Heart is in the top 5 best bands for me. If Heart ever adopted a heavier sound…HFS.
So this song was performed live for the very first time on Friday with Moriah Formica from Plush singing the Ann Wilson part. Plush was picked to open for disturbed for this tour so Moriah can sing this duet with David every night. Moriah killed it by the way.
I saw Disturbed live back in July and it was genuinely life-changing (I’d say more but I don’t want this comment to be book-length lol). 110% recommended seeing them if you get the chance!
Also my favorite song by them is probably The Light (tho it’s hard to choose)
Music is one of the truest universal languages that we have ever created. It doesn't matter who you are or where you are from, you feel it in your soul. Disturbed is one of my favorite band's hands down. They are so skilled in making people feel even when we might not want to or nothing else does. Favorite song by Disturbed? Well, that depends on my mood. If I need something to vent frustration or anger it would have to be indestructible with Won't back Down coming in a very close second. If it is where I need a hit in the feels for whatever reason it is The Light and this song tying. Honestly though it is so hard to pick just one favorite song by Disturbed.

This song is 2 years old it's crazy how everyone is jumping on the bandwagon now. I was looking for reactions to this song 2 years ago when it dropped but only a hand full of reactors did it. Am I in an alternate universe or something lol.

Not the first time I've heard the song, or even seen the video, but it just now hit me that David is divorced now, and I think he's really feeling it here.
And as a side note, I saw an article a while back about how difficult it is for him to reenter the dating scene, as if he puts his name on a dating app, they don't believe it's actually him.
This song was written by dan donegan the guitarist with David just sining the vocals. If anyone thought it was boring that is why but this song holds allot of meaning for the band and allot of fans. Show more respect for it. Nobody really cares if it sounds soft go find another band to cry over

David said he thought that was the greatest female rock voice ever was Ann Wilson! The song was written while Dan was going through a divorce. Little did David know that he would also be going through a divorce!
I am a 56 year old mom who got hooked on Disturbeds music as a result of hearing Sound of Silence! Just saw them live since my daughter wanted to see Breaking Benjamin and Disturbed was the headliner!

I bought the album last year. I remember the first time I heard this song, super lame and uninteresting story, but I thought that would be a great radio song. Then they ended up playing it on the radio which I thought was cool. But I'm just happy this song (which is my second favorite song off the album) is getting this UA-cam showing with the video that can bring in more people
