The moment the torches comes alive, *chefs kiss. Love what youre doing btw. Cant wait to see more!
i like putting a tower on the round bit of the bug house then put two of those next to eachother and bridge into a secret compound, or just as a stairwell to a bridge to an upper layer or unaccessible place
the 3 am youtube is hitting me with bangers
I had similar issues like the disappearing houses & walls when building too close to / on zone borders, too close to fogmen deathyards and too close to another towns.
On these occasions sometimes buildings become invisible, but remain "clickable", and show odd ownership infos when clicked.
Oh, and nice videos btw, binged through a bunch of lore videos today.
I just finished building a base on the big plateau east of mongrel and then saw this video. The biggest benefit to building in the foglands is the endless supply of free training dummies that show up.
Nice video
Building with shift-f12 looks so fun. Do you get a lot of pathing issues when you do that or is it alright?
38:23 ape brain re-engaging xD
I do a bit of testing on some of the more cobbled together parts as i go but for the most part I know what does and doesn't work when I build so I don't have to test much and don't run into many if any pathing issues once i save and reload (which you need to do anytime you place buildings with Shift+F12 to create the navmesh and make the buildings persistent)
With some experimentation you realize what can and cannot be done and how to make some of the more janky stuff work how you want.
To add onto the "make some of the more janky stuff work how you want" bit.
I had this one issue with a bughouse not too long ago, characters were getting stuck under the entrance stairs sometimes. Placing a couple of storage items under the stairs fixed the issue and it looked nice too. Not all solutions need to compromise aesthetics, go crazy with it.
What is the difference between the shift + f12 menu and the normal build menu?
Are you able to showcase some of these builds that are actually flushed out with idle NPC’s and such?
Probably not, unless he recruits a bunch of fluff squad members for that sole purpose
I suppose I could use the settlers mod to get some wandering NPCs but it might prove difficult. I'll look into it. No promises though
@@HeroInHisHead hey appreciate the reply no problems if not! Just all these builds would really create an interesting showcase (should you decide to create one of all the builds you’ve done) with the wandering NPC’s etc either way I love all the builds
@@FallenApaThy7May I answer the question, Yes you can! The NPC will use it if you fix everything properly and done testing it with your character. I have created skywalk way around The Hub and the Caravan drone use it lol.
Are these bases functional i noticed you blocked a few doors at the beginning.
Yeah it works. All bases I build for the channel are tested to ensure they are functional. Anything that doesn't work I bring up in post when I'm recording the narration and usually explain why it didn't/doesn't work.
Oh ok I see what you did there you set the entrances on the platform of the station house........ smart never tried that... you should try flipped buildings mod. I recently started using it, and it's great.
Song name?
