Read through the stats and they all got very interesting traits. Between Witchlight and this, recent adventurer stat blocks have been consistently interesting. Can't wait to find an opportunity to base my NPCs on them (I usually run in my homebrew world).
Just noticed in the artwork that the sorcerer has a Bag Of Holding! I hope we actually get to see that in the movie. My D&D group has a running joke that if you need to smuggle a bunch of weapons past the castle guards, step one is to keister a bag of holding…

(Or at the least North American audiences have.) The 2nd season of "Carnival Row"" is streaming now, for instance, and likely has a lot of overlap with a D&D movie audience.
I love this Idea of making stats for the Characters in the movie, and would love to see some adventures written to use these characters in also BUT, not a Big fan then saying they Dummed down the character's stats to help the DM, like were too stupid to understand a stat block 8( I play mostly 1e with Thako and Reverse AC I think I can figure out simple 5e stats
Why doesn’t the barbarian have damage mitigation, nor damage bonuses? I don’t think it’s hard to track IMO. Auto make it simple, reduce damage by the stat block PB.
I am sorry to say, I am boycotting the new D&D film, because of Paramount's decision to renew Alex KLUTZman's Star Trek contract. I am a huge fan of both D&D and OLD Star Trek. However, Paramount's dumb decision has infuriated me, and I will no longer give Paramount a dime of my money anymore. Sorry that your film became collateral damage in my decision.
They the explanation for the Druid owlbear...we just made it all up giving her an Owlbear shape, wildshape 5 times a day, and letting her wildshape into things up to CR 3 when she is level 8 at best with a proficiency bonus of +3.
The explanation for the druid owlbear is in the latest ODnD playtest. That said, given how you reacted to a NPC statblock not following player rules, the new wildshape rules might just finish you off... Fair warning is fair.

Doric is an ancient Greek region that gave the name of Doric style from its temples to architectures and sculptures. It is taught in middle school at basic history in all Europe, so few people here would think of American slang when hearing Doric.
Looking at stats, and I am suprised - based on hitdice, they are lvl 16-21??? Really? Havent seen the movie, but expected it would be a group of rookies - but these are badasses.
Based on their proficiency bonus, they are 5th to 8th level. I'm guessing a mix to show level ups maybe. The BBEG is throwing 9th level spells, so they need to be up there a bit.
Oh, this is delicious. Gatekeeping a hobby based on clothing is one thing, claiming that the story designer for Ravenloft and DM of Acquisitions Inc has no clue about the game is just **chef's kiss**.

There are some I interesting ideas on these stat blocks. I can see some one dnd play test in some of these designs.
So, Simon is a descendant of Elminster himself? It should be pretty tough to live up to the name, especially without control of his own power.

More like condensing the 5th to 16th level characters from a full sheet to a stat block.

Auto make it simple, reduce damage by the stat block PB.
They have 5th to 8th level proficiency bonus, but 16th or so HD & hp. So don't really need it, but you certainly can add if if you want.
I’d like to see them stat out the characters from the first movie. I hope the rumors of Marlon Wayans getting revived in this new movie are true!
