    @CrowdControlFTW: Once again a hunter misses his target.
    Like most martial arts of Japan, the motions involved through the practice of Kyudo are meant to calm the mind and remove extraneous motion through technique. Hitting the target is merely an expression of perfect form, if the object was to hit the target every time this would be Olympic archery. Kyudo like Iaido or Naginata are all preserved arts that remain literally a form of "art", and a connection to Bushido and the Samurai.

    I'm always open to learn new things. So I didn't know that "student kyudo" is a bit different...

    In Jp many join clubs at school or uni, mostly for fun and recreation. There they are trained up quickly to be efficient and accurate in a competitive setting.
    The whole philosophical side is more for the mature mind and comes later.
    Germany has mostly mature practitioners who want to learn for different reasons so focus may be more on form than fun...
    Anyway, just my impression and I'm no expert either.
    They are all still very good - and we should not generalize having seen 6 arrows shot...

    Then we get taught a different kind of Kyudo because we learn that it's a fault to open the hand. And, to open your hand for a better hit rate is even worse. No teacher here accepts that. And a nobiai should last at least 5 secs...

    @CrowdControlFTW: oh and the japanese bow was NEVER a hunting weapon. it was meant to kill men. Hence the mental training for calm and repetitive motion, through continuous practice of technique .

    Maybe they should send jp students to Germany to learn better kyudo... hi hi ; )
    In Heki Ryu not letting go is a sign of quality I agree.
    In "student kyudo" achiving hits for your team is paramount. Remember they are students not old masters.
    They are referred to as "players" - it is fun and sport, not a religion.
    And nobiai... well, 5 -10 - 30secs of just holding is still just holding. Length is not everything - in nobiai as in life ; )
    I agree letting go is not correct so let's not argue.

    I can't agree to that because even beginners are able to hit the target sooner or later. But that doesn't necessarily mean their technique is correct. My coach is doing Kyudo for more than 20 years and his rate varries...like mine...like everyone elses rate...

    the little finger of her left hand is weak because she opens the hand in hanare. but her nobiai is good...

    @GaolisVideoLog it doesn't really matter if they're wearing black or white. but black does look better.

  • @BurpietheClown
    @BurpietheClown 14 років тому

    Yes, you could be right and generalization isn't always good. Of course most jp students who do kyudo might have a good rate but if you're able to shoot about 100 arrows a day you'd be as good as them. My impression is that in Germany kyudo is more balanced between competition and the philosophical stuff. If you perform all hassetsu right you'll hit the target. But if you hit the target it doesn't mean you did everything right...

  • @gammagoochee

    Which "her" are we talking about?
    They ALL open their hands - that is how jp students shoot as it makes for a better hit rate.
    And nobiai is just long but invariably superficial.
    Posture is good and hanare is balanced but hey all just flex their elbows in hanare. If there were nobiai the left arm could be straight and expansion could come from the chest and not the arms.
    Still, Hosei Uni studens have won national student championships and the girl in red sleeves even features in a textbook.

  • @gammagoochee
    @gammagoochee 14 років тому

    They are students not old masters - of course they train to hit the target.
    Uniforms look like students of Hosei Uni. - they regularly win prizes including the All Nippon Students Kyudo Championship. Hit rates of 90+% are not uncommon.
    If you don't hit you are doing something wrong in your shooting.
    Only in the West do people tell themselves shooting badly is ok and hitting doesn't matter.
    To learn kyudo shooting correctly matters and hitting is a result of correct shooting technique.

    And as always, the Japanese find new ways of not doing any good at all. The bow, my dear friends and foes, is a hunting weapon. Sure, competitions are also acceptable, because the were originally there so that good archers would excel, while the bad ones didn't. Self-control and all that-fine, but at least let us see how shitty they shoot. It's all fun and games, but games usually involve some kind of winners and losers.

    不知道是我自己的錯覺還是卻有其事,看她們的眼睛給人一種不是很專注的樣子,我不知道在弓道上姿勢算不算分,好像使她們太在意姿勢是不是合乎規則導致有些慌亂,内心並沒有極力想要表現出來沉穩平靜,也許是功力還不夠吧。如果說錯了就儅是外行的瞎嗶嗶不用儅囘事
