I love the structure of this show. Commenting on actual social issues like poverty, the criminal justice system, racism, etc. but using morally corrupt and selfish characters to do it. It's genius. I've probably seen every episode at least 6 or 7 times and it never gets dull. As always, you're killing it with these reactions!

Dee's yellow pant suit is a reference to one of the best basketball coaches of all time, Pat Summit. She coached women's basketball at the University of Tennessee and was known for wearing similar brightly colored pant suits.
This is how I realize I'm stupid. I thought it was a reference to big bird. I'm actually serious.

@@JediPiIot I didn't know about Pat Summit either, so I'm maybe not the best judge, but I can totally understand seeing a ref to Big Bird. Especially given Dee's later, uh, descriptions.

Charlie reffing the basketball game is one of my top 5 moments of the show. Makes me die laughing every time

When I was in HS I had a part time job reffing 7-8 year old basketball and, TBH, it wasn’t THAT much different. I didn’t call a single foul all season, it was chaos, and we’d have finale scores like 4-8.
I never did show up drunk though. 😜

The interstate highway system is a series of federally funded highways in the US that allow for quick travel between states. A lot of community service is picking up litter on the side of the interstate.

There's that "Adopt-A-HIghway" program, too, where charitable groups pay for the aesthetic maintenance of a given stretch and get a sign in recognition.
Interestingly, the original purpose of the Interstate system was military (full name is "The Dwight D. Eisenhower National System of Interstate and Defense Highways"). Post WW2, it was realized that the domestic transit system was woefully inadequate for transporting large numbers of troops to potential war-zones on either coast. Being the Cold War, there was motivation to fix this quickly, hence the federal highways. There's also a coding in the numbers; odds go generally N/S, with numbers increasing as you move west to east, while evens run E/W, with numbers increasing as you move south to north. Finally, there's an urban legend of a requirement that there be a straight run of highway of a given length every given number of miles, so that it could be used as an emergency landing-strip for aircraft, but it apparently isn't so. Seems a good idea, though.

One of my favorite episodes from the first couple seasons lol. First time I saw Charlie blocks the shots I couldn't stop laughing for several minutes.
This episode was shot before episode 4 and I don’t know why it’s episode six but if it seems to feel out of order it’s because it is. That doesn’t happen again though in the other seasons.

That's pretty common in TV generally, though, isn't it? If you don't have a direct follow-on plot, it's usually not a huge deal for the broadcast order to differ from the production order, which tends to be organized around efficiency in shooting the whole season anyway, as opposed to ep-by-ep. That's my understanding, at least.
It kinda works here, too, even though this ep should follow the poop-bag one. Given America's massively under-funded justice system, I'd expect there to be some time between arrest and sentencing.

That seems a little harsh, at this stage. The Waitress was shady about sponsoring Charlie, sure, but she did actually own-up to it, though admittedly only when she had to (she could've tried lying about it, I suppose). Meanwhile, the Gang was turning vulnerable kids into child soldiers without the slightest bit of remorse.

hey girl, I hope you're going to react to Squid Game, the south korean show that is absolutely poppin' on Netflix right now. It's blowing up all over social media so I'm sure you've heard people around you talking about it. It totally lives up to the hype in my opinion, you gotta do it! Watch it in it's original language with subtitles, don't watch it dubbed. The dubbed isn't as good and it changes some things.
