- This Rubik cube solver has been assembled with parts from the well known FAC system. More info here meccanokinemati... and below.
FAC system is a modular system developed in the early 1950's by the gifted Swedish artist Mark Sylwan.
The heart of this stand alone machine is built up from a Raspberry Pi Compute Module in combination with an Arduino Mini. The scanner is assembled from 3 modified Colorpal colorsensors.
For the second generation solver (4 gripper solver) we are going to use the Pi camera in stead of the afore mentioned Colorpal's. For the solving part we used part of the Kociemba algoritm.
In the meantime we have built a Meccano equivalent of the 3 gripper solver as well. It can be found on following youtube link:

What do you consider "cheating"?
So all sides of cube are scanned, then some algorithm on graphs or other related algorithms are run to reach all sides to be the same colored

That's very efficient, it isn't even following the regular algorithm! Did you program it to find the shortest solution?
We used the Kociemba algorithm. The algorithm can be downloaded on his website.

Нет, оптимальный алгоритм слишком долго работает. Здесь мы используем алгоритм Коцембы
+meodov Вам бы больше вычислительной мощи, организовать всё на андроид устройстве и обмен данными по блютуз или вай фай.
